Drinks break abuse

It's a bit of a pizztake, but it's hardly a surprise that a professional football team seeks to bend every possible circumstance in their favour. At least this wasn't about managers fiddling with ball boys during the breaks.

Is this making a mockery of an unnecessary drinks break?
============

Absolute mockery and the same applies to the 5 subs.

Both requested and demanded by the big clubs who have a huge squad and the drinks excuse is that it will be too hot for the player and yet it is raining here?

Its good they're not in somewhere like Afghanistan licking each other the way they do on the pitch, its way to hot!..

They'd dry up very quickly!..

The break isn't needed and is a dumb ass idea!..

And the weather is not even tropical ! People in this world are too precious these days.

The weather for the past 2 weeks has been crap tbh. It litterally drizzled all frigging day yesterday. They've played 5 games now, so they can't be unfit or dehydrated depite it being July.

It is what it is.
Same for both teams
No doubt bowyer was also discussing tactics just without a board so less obvious
Can’t see what a Manager can get across in 1 minute that could change the game massively - Brentford would have won anyway surely

What the feck is it for anyway? Too hot 😆. Fack me

It depends on what is happening in the game. It mostly benefits the team that is playing badly as they get a chance to get a break and some changes from the manager.

Whether it's obvious with a tactics board, or just someone talking to the players, i'm sure it's not just a quiet session with everyone drinking - that goes for us as well.

As for the breaks, probably thought about when it was really warm a few weeks ago. Not sure they need it with the current weather, but again, its the same for both sides.

I also think there was the worry that after so many months off players wouldn’t be fully ready to go straight away on such a tight schedule, normally you’d have pre season training and some pre season games to slowly get yourself back into things but players were expected to hit the ground running after a short time together again, the drinks break makes them less likely to pick up soft tissue injuries as it breaks the game up a bit more

I think these breaks were introduced for the 94 World Cup USA because of the heat, but it is a little warmer there!..

This break does break up the momentum of play and isn't needed!..

Seems odd to have drinks breaks in the first place, I guess because it is the summer then they thought it best. to be fair, you can;t predict the weather, in May when they were disucssing the re-start it looked like it was going to be a very hot summer potentially.

with regards to the tactical side, I'm totally with kebab, can't think 60 seconds of their manager giving it big ones would make any difference what so ever

Maybe it's the contents of the drinks that makes the difference ……

Maybe if the Brentford boss hadn't got the chance to get his players in the new hug and makeup break, he wouldn't have been able to change their way of play!..

They'll have had instructions on how to play, and the Charlton team will have been playing their way to stop them, so, someone got a get out of jail free card and used it!..

I think we're clutching at straws.

Bowyer had just as much chance to put across his method of how Charlton should play to try to prevent them scoring.

If we're losing in any of the upcoming matches and then after a drinks break we get a win from the match, we'll be delighted and hailing the way MB managed to impart some crucial tactic on the team at that time. We won't give any amount of hoots when he managed to change things.

If for any reason we fail to get promoted, it won't be because of a drinks break in any match.

Cant say anything against manacoaches giving new instructions, only saying this break is not needed, even if the weather was warmer its still not needed, players get a half time break and I'm sure they take on enough fluids to take them to the end of the game!..

Germany in all fairness, if it’s 24 plus degrees.. which it could be easily at 3pm during the summer, then water breaks are needed! I think it’s compulsory actually somewhere, just thinking of my rugby league coaches course, I’m sure there’s some rule there
