Is Bianca Williams now above the law ?

Do beat cops now have to avoid certain people who they feel need to be stopped /spoken to
=========

Police must not be heavy handed with certain members of the community and Not so with others? Police must apply the law equally! If all you see is black youths being stopped you must ask yourself why?
Crime is colourless and yet as soon as the Police see a coloured person driving a nice car, they feel the urge to stop the driver? And they don’t just stop the driver on false pretexts like oh we had reports of some fitting your description up to no goo but in some cases, they are down right condescending and rude.
I have experienced this myself with a mate shoeing me his new car but all we did was go around the area once and the police turned up? Yes you can guess he is black! The excuses bu the police was laughable. The only reason nothing came off of this is because I took my phone out and started recording it!

Hard to comment on individual cases. But you are right about the risks of going too far the other way in an attempt to hit certain PC objectives.

Ultimately the unfortunate fact is that being black makes it more likely that you are poor and therefore more likely that you commit crime so police bias is actually justified. Sort that problem out and you can then think about looking at the police side of things.

Wasn't it her partner who was driving and she was in the back of the car with her 3 month or so baby.

It would have been her partner who was at fault really.Thing is if what was reported by the police is true then how fit are both of them as parents to potentially put an infant in danger.

Not seen anything criticizing them on putting their infant in danger.

Shouldn't there be dash cam and chest cam footage that settles it?

Who is she anyway ffs !

“ Not seen anything criticizing them on putting their infant in danger.”

Not seen any evidence they did, serious claims by the police after the fact aside.

Hence the caveat 'if what was reported by the police is true'.I think driving on the wrong side of the road and speeding off when asked to pull over by police in some eyes can been seen as endangering an infant.

Yep good news everyone, you can drive on the wrong side of the road and speed away if told to stop by the police as long as you play the race card.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just because a bent office told you so?

Have you got actual evidence and not a she said he said?

So her account has as much validity as there's,so why have the police been made to apologise to them

What has that question got to do with this case and what I have said.

Again if what the police said was true then they aren't good parents are they. Also both accounts without evidence hold equal validity,so why have the police been forced to apologising when they already reviewed the evidence and said it was all done correctly.

If the evidence comes out and their is footage confirming the police account, will they get an apology from the guilty party?

stuff like this is scary, when people think theyre above the law. Yes theres some dodgy people enforcing the law, but its no excuse for this.

yeah surely they have cam footage, if they do and release it, imo they have nothing to apologise for. If there is none and theyre lying, then they do and appropiate action needs taking.

Yet they’ve not been arrested or charged with either. Is it conceivable they drove on the wrong side of the road with their 3 month old child in the back and the police didn’t mention it on camera, didn’t arrest for it and only brought it up after it was publicised?

All very strange.

It’s more a case of the Commissioner paying lip service and trying not let this spiral out of control. It wouldn’t surprise me if some compensation will be heading in someone’s direction for “hurt feelings”/counselling or whatever.

What has she (the Commissioner) got to apologise for, exactly? Oh well, perhaps they shouldn’t stop anyone at all and they won’t be criticised as such in the future. The media, are, as always, portraying only half the story I suspect.

i have absolutely no idea what actually happened in this incident, same way i'd never heard of her until this all blew up.

but i do find it a little curious, and unsavoury, how quickly this has been turned into a "heavy handed police target black people" story, when we have only seen/heard one side of the story. and my god have some of the media - bbc especially - gone to town with this story.

Seems very quick to make an apology. Imagine it could be that A. It wasn’t a legitimate stop. B. That recent aggression towards the police has forced this to protect the officers out on the front line.

but then she was very quick to get it splashed across the papers, and to talk about potentially suing the police.

no idea how long an actual police investigation takes - though if there is dashcam footage you'd think you could get a good idea of how this was handled in all of 10 minutes - but it could be that the apology was needed just for the police to be seen to be doing something.
