If Auba stays, and Saka, Martinelli, Pepe etc. kick on...

I fully expect Arsenal to be at the top sooner rather than later.

Can u imagine...

Martinelli——Auba——Pepe

Saka———Xhaka——Partey

You don’t have Partey, Xhaka is sheite, Pepe is a flop and Martinelli and Saka look decent but are kids. Aubemayang future is also up in the air

Oh and you forgot how sheite your defence is

They could fall away, but i think they’ll make a couple quality signings again this season and finish 5th/6th again next season.

Pedro Neto is someone who looks a problem, next season i expect him to kick on and if he does they’ll have insane weapons on both flanks.

A replacement/backup for Moutinho is key though

Isn’t Saka a winger?

Whilst David Luiz is still running around at the back you can’t expect to be challenging for anything. Pepe has also been massively underwhelming, and that 70 mil perhaps could have been spent elsewhere in the squad

I think Pepe will come good tbf. Maybe not a 70 mill player but there certainly is potential.

Pepe just looks quick to me, that’s kind of all i see right now.

Then again i never in a million years expected Traore to add an end product to his play and he did, so Pepe could do the same

They’re fighting to finish above Arsenal and Spurs this season, despite them having their worst seasons in years.

Despite all their problems Arsenal and Spurs have a higher ceilings with their current squads, and don’t need that much more to finish ahead of Wolves, they may even do that this year.

That’s not to say it’s certain Wolves will be below them, but I expect them to and don’t think Wolves would be the team to close the gap. Leicester are more likely given they’ve actually done it already this season.

Don't think either will make top 4 next season and will be battling to be above Leicester and Wolves. Both poorly run clubs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But how difficult is it really to get a Top 4 spot?

Last year, a poor Arsenal side only missed out by a single point during Unai Emery's maiden season. And how on earth are we anywhere near smelling distance after the chaotic season we're having now?

Arteta only has to do a relatively decent job over the next couple of years and we'll be back up there in no time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahead of who exactly?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool and Man City aside, I'd say the Top 4 is wide open for anyone putting a decent club project in place. Especially with both Chelsea and United hamstrung by their current choice of manager.

Yeah but Leicester have Rodgers, who’s been found out yet again.

Would have been a very interesting summer transfer wise but difficult to see much being spent by a lot of clubs now but maybe I am wrong on that and I hope I am.

We need to spend to bridge that gap to the next level as our better young players are still very raw and I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one 'star' leave.

A few more years of 6/7/8th for us I think.

Chelsea do have a vintage Abramovich rebuild in the making. Albeit under an unproven manager.

United are simply throwing a pile of cash at an unproven manager and waiting to see what sticks.

And yes, Arsenal are behind. But I'd have expected our mid-table squad to be much farther behind than they are now.

I don’t think it’s quite as simple as Rodgers being found out, as much as I’d love it to be. Leicester massively over performed in the first half of the season. Then there was a regression toward o the mean and injuries to some key players. All of a sudden they’ve found it difficult to arrest that slide.

But they’ve got a lot more talent in their team than Wolves, and Vardy and Evans are the only ones that are old - Vardy doesn’t look like slowing down any time soon. They look better placed than Wolves do right now. Arguably more so than Spurs and Arsenal as well - but the latter can attract more proven talent to change that.

Fair. I’m no expert on Wolves but it seems you rarely seem to have any injuries either.

Don’t get Leicester fans having a go at Rodgers. Look at where they were when he took over compared to where they are now and it all seems a little ungrateful.

Things change very quickly. We were in absolute disarray 6 months ago, for example. But as it stands, it's hard to see Arsenal or Spurs being realistic CL challengers next year and in the case of Spurs, even the year after. Even Europa will be a challenge, as both Leicester and Wolves will likely be strong again next year. Not to mention the inevitable rise of Newcastle, should the expected takeover go through

Pepe to me has a beauty of a left-foot and some Robben type characteristics.

Bags of skill as well but he seems a bit unathletic tbh.

Our greatest ever manager didn’t have many 17 game unbeaten runs. I know it is popular to diss Ole and Frank but they appear to be ideal people to do the rebuilding job for their respective clubs.
