I think we can expect to see net debt take another monumental whack when the Q4 figures are published.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
annoying ain't it? this is where our overspending on players historically comes back to bite us, no other club in the world would have paid £130m for maguire and AWB, just as no one was queuing up to drop £50m on Fred (when city baulk at the fees you know you're overpaying).
and, really annoyingly, i think sancho probably does fall into that "pay whatever it takes" category, but it may be that, right now, whatever it takes is more than we can afford.
but if we can get CL, and maybe offload some of the deadwood - say, £40m for smalling, lingard, and jones - we should be able to reach a compromise.
if we don't get CL, we lose £15-20m on sponsorship, £30-50m on the CL itself, and it's leon bailey here we come.

Leon Bailey is not a bad option b to be honest

We need quality like him as our back up top our front 3 is barely mid table standard
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sancho would be your back up to our current front 3?!
😂
Very expensive bench warmer!

No he’d start when fit but would keep our front 3 always competitive. Greenwood would get a good amount of games and when one of our players get injured as they always do, we have good quality still playing, not a massive drop off a cliff of quality we do now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly
I can see why Dortmund would want to hold on if they believe they can get him to sign a contract extension (albeit with a exit fee stipulated). At the moment it seems like Utd are the only show in town, for a selling club that’s not ideal. Another top season and there might be more interest next summer, get a bit of an auction going.
If Utd’s interest is genuine then they’ll probably want it tied up this summer I’d have thought.
I haven’t seen enough of him to comment to be honest, it’s a lot of money and you expect a certain level of performance but so often these big deals tend to leave you underwhelmed.
Ticks a lot of boxes, from Manchester, young, great stats, shown a good mentality at a young age to go abroad and be a success and he plays in a position we’re short on numbers.

I think he's actually from London (Chelsea fan). But I get your point, he obviously spent a few of his formative years in Manchester after signing for City
