People are easily manipulated. Replace religion with nationally and Patriotism, or even something as simple as the colour of one skin. Not just religion. We're on a football forum and how many people have attack another fan just for supporting another team? People at their base nature want to belong and things that group people and bring them together also excludes people.
All that would happen is that religion will be replaced by something else and while those people may laugh they will also fall into doing the very things they laugh at.

If you're against something, that's your opinion based on what you believe. You might believe something about a topic and some of it is based on false information. Someone mentioned the 72 virgins, yet this seemed to be more propagated by Western media outlets than Islamic scholars.
Attacking the idea of heaven and hell, and other such concepts in a religion (and not all religions have these) are yours to do, but, much like anything, you can't make up stuff, attach it to something and then attack it. We've seen this done by people against certain movements.
For example, some people attack the message of BLM as a leftist Marxist plot. Others see it as a message to mean Black lives are more important than white lives, or that it promotes the lives of black people over others. Some are of course racist and just don't like it that black people are saying their lives should matter as much as a white person's life and try to spread lies about such message to have people turn against it. Someone who hasn't looked into it might naively spread their message. And then it becomes a talking point.

If you're against something, that's your opinion based on what you believe. You might believe something about a topic and some of it is based on false information. Someone mentioned the 72 virgins, yet this seemed to be more propagated by Western media outlets than Islamic scholars.
Attacking the idea of heaven and hell, and other such concepts in a religion (and not all religions have these) are yours to do, but, much like anything, you can't make up stuff, attach it to something and then attack it. We've seen this done by people against certain movements.
For example, some people attack the message of BLM as a leftist Marxist plot. Others see it as a message to mean Black lives are more important than white lives, or that it promotes the lives of black people over others. Some are of course racist and just don't like it that black people are saying their lives should matter as much as a white person's life and try to spread lies about such message to have people turn against it. Someone who hasn't looked into it might naively spread their message. And then it becomes a talking point.

People are easily manipulated. Replace religion with nationally and Patriotism, or even something as simple as the colour of one skin. Not just religion. We're on a football forum and how many people have attack another fan just for supporting another team? People at their base nature want to belong and things that group people and bring them together also excludes people.
All that would happen is that religion will be replaced by something else and while those people may laugh they will also fall into doing the very things they laugh at.

That's your opinion and that's not what I was addressing.
If you're against something, that's your opinion based on what you believe. You might believe something about a topic and some of it is based on false information. Someone mentioned the 72 virgins, yet this seemed to be more propagated by Western media outlets than Islamic scholars.
Attacking the idea of heaven and hell, and other such concepts in a religion (and not all religions have these) are yours to do, but, much like anything, you can't make up stuff, attach it to something and then attack it. We've seen this done by people against certain movements.
For example, some people attack the message of BLM as a leftist Marxist plot. Others see it as a message to mean Black lives are more important than white lives, or that it promotes the lives of black people over others. Some are of course racist and just don't like it that black people are saying their lives should matter as much as a white person's life and try to spread lies about such message to have people turn against it. Someone who hasn't looked into it might naively spread their message. And then it becomes a talking point.

If I was 99% sure there was no higher being but had 1% doubt then I could be potentially converted into believing in a deity.

The issue with things like that is whether it is actually part of the religion or not. People peddle myths about religion themselves yet haven't actually taken the time to read up in it.
If you don't believe it, you don't. Don't spread false information or myths about things you know very little about.
