No-one is buying Ozil or Kolasinac, and the prices are pretty ridiculous, but for the sake of your game...

Sell:

Ozil - £15.75m
Kolasinac - £14.4m
Bellerin - £28.8
Sokratis - £13.05m

Mustafi - £10.8m
Lacazette - £43.2m
Nketiah - £9.9m
Chambers - £13.05m
Leno - £25.2m

£242m

I would sign:
Danny Ings - £15.75
Malang Sarr - £0
Abdoulaye Doucoure - £18m
Joe Hart - £0
Phillipe Coutinho - Loan fee (£20m?)
Ismaila Sarr - £22.05m

£75.8m

------------Martinez------------

Pepe-------Coutinho-----Sarr

Hi Stan!!!! Going after the profits again are ya? You are a WUM...or a spurs fan in disguise with those signings.

OP...based on the prices of course, tha tg looks a decent summer and a decent lineup. I'd swap Grealish for Ceballos as I feel he offers more drive going forward and a better threat.

posted on 22/7/20

Grealish is one of the most over-rated players around. Not even in the top 3 Villa players.

In: Partey, Coutinho, Ceballos and Upamecano.
Out: Guendouzi, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Mustafi, Torreira, Chambers, Ozil (but he will be till the end of contract).

posted on 22/7/20

This Upamecano obsession some seem to have is not healthy. It's not happening so give it up. He is on the list of players AFC just ain't getting. And Partey isn't going to join us now either, so you can forget that one too. Coutinnho is just another Ozil waiting to happen.

Unless you're Man CIty and can afford to buy a star for every position, wholesale player switching in one window ain't really a good idea. Guen is going, Torriera is going, probably Kol too and we need to kick Sokratis out now. So there's your added transfer money. That plus your 50 is a budget without gutting the whole team you can't afford to replace with stars. People seem to have forgotten we'll be requiring decent squad players also. Or you all using the reserves to replace all the players you want to sell to get a couple of stars/stars to be.

Actually it is almost unheard of for Arsenal to make a profit in the transfer window under Kroenke. I have done the complete opposite of what Stan does. Maybe it is you who is the Spurs fan and doesn't know what happens at Arsenal

Really...at the time where we need investment to build up the squad, you sell our best keeper (yes Emi is fantastic but without Leno, we'd be worse off in the league), and buy a bunch of mid table players. And then keep a profit of 167 mill!!! For what????

posted on 22/7/20

No point in 2 fantastic 'keepers, might as well make some money off of one and Emi was only up at £2m.

posted on 22/7/20

Emi needs to prove himself. He wasn't third and second goalkeeper for no reason for 10 years. This could all be just a good run of form. He needs much more games than few games to say surely that he is #1 keeper.

Obviously totally pointless, but I do find them fun to do

50m

Out: Sokratis 13.05
Mustafi 10.80
Holding 8.55
Kolasinac 14.40
Bellerin 28.80
Guendouzi 36.45
Torreira 32.40
Ozil 15.75
Lacazette 43.20

253.40 to spend

In: Doucoure 18
Partey 36
Max Aarons 18
Malang Sarr 0
Kai Haverts 72.9
Moise Kean 22.50
ASM - 18
Arthur Masuaku - 5.85 (really had no idea here, but want Kola gona and didn't want to pay out for a backup LB when we already have Saka and AMN who could cover in a pinch)

62.15m left, which should cover paying off Ozils wages! Otherwise, could swap Kean out for someone a little more established, although I think there's still a goalscorer in there that Arteta & Auba could coax out

--------------Martinez--------------
Aarons--Saliba--Luiz---Tierney
---------Partey---Xhaka--------
Pepe--------Havertz------Martinelli
----------------Auba--------------

Leno, AMN, Doucoure, Ceballos, Saka, Kean, ASM

Think we'd have plenty of options and quite a bit of versatility in the squad

posted on 22/7/20

Well, here goes.

There's a few positions in our squad currently lagging behind as a result of average options available.

I can't obviously change the entire squad. 3 signings max. Anything more would just add to the confusing conveyor-belt we've had for years.

So my main focus will be RB/RWB, CM and ST. Quality over quantity. Rebuilds don't happen overnight. Build a good base in the first season, and maybe add a bit of flash in the next window.

As money is tight, there's quite a few potential bargains because of players running into the final year of their contracts.

IN- £60-70m

CM - Piotr Zielinski . 26 years old, with a year left on his contract. 33 games this season. £20-25m. (Special mention goes out to Gini Wijnaldum who also has a year left, and could be worth a cheeky bid. )

ST - Arkadiusz Milik. Also 26 yrs old, and with a year left on his contract. Solid in the air. Only 6 foot 1, but I'd still take him. Would add plenty of bite and desperately needed presence inside the oppo's box, and gets a goal every other game. £20-25m.

RWB/RB- Hans Hateboer. 26 yrs old with 2 yrs left. Part of the Atalanta success story, and can also do a job in midfield. Might be a bit pricey. Anywhere between £15-25m.

OUT- £45-50m

It's open season on all the contract rebels, as far as I'm concerned. All except Auba. I'd pay him anything he wants. He's worked exceptionally hard for it.

Özil - £15-20m
Sokratis - £10-12m
Mustafi - £12-18m

The one we really need is Richarlison.

That kid is a serious talent and would be a monster under Arteta.

We need a CB and RB also.

It was very difficult not to like him when he first came to the Premiership for Watford, he started very well, even from game 1 if I recall. Imagine Martinelli & Auba together with Richy-Rich in a 3 - frightening stuff.

posted on 23/7/20

I actually remember thinking how the hell have Watford got him over us, surely we'd be in for a player this young & talented.

posted on 23/7/20

The biggest problem we have had for years is midfield. Poor in attack and poor at protecting the defence. So many commentds here trying to address the symptoms and not the cause. For the 3rd or 4th year running I will say the same thing, if we want to improve every penny should be spent on getting the strongest midfield we can.

posted on 23/7/20

We do definitely need more quality in defence, mainly player who won’t make random mistakes, but Arteta probably now has the defence mostly more organised than we had under Wenger for much of his emirates era teams. Difference is our midfield was so much better, and we had a much clearer idea of how to create chances and play in attack. If we still had that much better midfield with this defence we’d be a much improved team

Our midfield is mostly made up of same sort of players, who all occupy similar positions, Xhaka, Ceballos, Torreira and guendouzi, all are better from deep, none have much impact around the opponents box and none apart from sometimes guen are good at driving forward with the ball. Only players we have who are different are Willock and ozil, who obviously gave their own issues

We need a more creative type who can operate further forward receive ball from deep in the attacking third and link in the forwards. Bit like how ozil did when he was good. Also a more box to box player is needed, someone who can defend but also dribble the ball and drive forwards , and chip in with goals. Ramsey was last player we had like this
