If I had a pound for every time I read a Derby fan on here asking why we didn't buy Watkins I would have enough money to buy Watkins. Supposedly Derby were quoted a substantially higher fee by Exeter to sign him than Brentford were, and also wanted him to be immediately loaned back to them for the rest of that season. So it fell through.

Thankfully we signed Josefzoon from Brentford though.

They were the same number on their shirt!

We should have bought Mitrovic, Vidal.

Again, we tried. He wanted to move to London.

Roy Keane when he was manager of Sunderland complained that WAGs always wanted to move to London or if slumming it to Cheshire. As a result the club had to offer over the top wages to get anyone to sign.

Roy slummed it in Cheshire then walking his dog.

Bet he trained the dog to pick up its own crap.

Think it's changed from a belly laugh to smug snigger. It will take until next season for it to disappear completely. Wonder if Reds are everywhere regrets his thread now. I thought our performance in 2015 where we only had to draw to reach the play offs was one of our all time worst performances, but to go in to a game where you didn't even have to win and then fail takes special incompetence.

Talking of 2015 by some amazing coincidence the three teams promoted that season have all been relegated this season in exactly the same order as they were promoted. Will we give Will a cheer when he returns to Pride Park, assuming we are allowed in.

I see the authorities are allowing a crowd at "Glorious" Giodwood tomorrow. Approx 5,000 are being allowed entry.

Funny how the last event to be allowed a crowd and one of the first back is for the supporters of "the sport of kings"!

I've watched the playoffs so far and none of the teams are that good. I reckon Forrest would have beaten the lot............. if only that donkey Chris Martin hadn't scored that goal.

A fully fit Marriott will be a great start.

Lets hope he's now just that!

We can't rely on Waghorn, he makes Kenny Miller and Theo Robinson look clinical. I was going to say Conor Sammon as well but that is stretching things.

A pity but I don't think Martin is a realistic first choice for Cocu in the longer term. He probably sees him as an occasional sub option only. As with Huddz I rate the player but it's right to (finally) decide on what the club thinks is appropriate in terms of wages for a player and contract length and then stick to it. What we save in wages for losing players like Martin, Huddz, McAfro etc will either help with FFP or be used to fund incoming players. I don't think we can rely on what we currently have up front.

Not that outlandish, when you consider the alternative could be Kieffer Moore.

Martin has averaged around a goal every three games this season. Waghorn a goal every 4. Waghorn runs a lot more but where it counts he falls short.

Poor decision, which will end up costing us in the long run

If he signs for another Championship outfit, you can put money on him getting one against us.

I'm very disappointed that Derby haven't made sure Martin stayed for a couple more years. He is joint highest goal scorer having played 10 games fewer than Waghorn and is the top in assists. I reckon his defensive work at corners needs a mention or two. I will be ultra upset if Chris leaves for good.

I really hope he doesn't go to the bottlers and come back and score!
