But Rangers decided to press ahead with the game against United despite not having test results back for 9 players who were involved, which completely contravenes the rules.

-------------------------------------------

Do we know this for a fact?

The fact that the Rangers v Motherwell game was delayed because the Ref was waiting on Motherwell's results suggests that Rangers results were available earlier.

Maybe we had them in time? All the article says is the Rangers have been asked to provide an explanation/confirmation.

I'll save the hyperbole until i know for sure

Plus I'm quite sure that Dundee Utd and the match officials would not have let the match go ahead without said confirmation.

If they did then i'm afraid it's not just Rangers who are 'ridiculous' and 'flouting the rules'

Utter bollox there is no defense of Rangers in this if the story is true I may add, they just basically said fook the rules and played the game.

I'd wait until we know what happened then. If Rangers let players go out without the testing its terrible but we don't know that happened yet.

yes if as indicated by the 'fact' the ref delayed the Motherwell game why would he go ahead with the Utd game?

Why would Utd agree to play it?

Did the Ref, Utd and Rangers all break the rules?

The article never said they weren't tested just that they MIGHT not have had all the results by then.

Clearly not - The Ref just made sure that DU were ok and wasn't bothered about checking the other team involved.

If United have gone ahead with the game knowing that the results weren't back then we should get hammered as well.

Anyone who went ahead with that game knowing that it was contravening the rules were jeapordising the start of the season and that's not acceptable.

This isn't a scarfy thing.

well it had been for you up till now.

We have 3 SFA officials
We have Utd reps and medics
We have Rangers reps and medics

Between them they decided to play the game

Any one of the 3 groups could have called it off had things not been in line with requirements.

Maybe their has been a misunderstanding of the rules?
Maybe things were fine?
Maybe they all said fek it we will play anyway?

Obviously I cant read your mind so unfortunately I have to just go by what you type

And you typed this

If i read between the line I can just see where you mention (or thought) that all 3 parties were involved and that the Ref and Utd had a responsibility to ensure along with Rangers that things were in order.

My apologies

If Rangers have put out a team against United that hadn't been tested then that's a disgrace.

It's a bit of a meme on here, but Rangers should be hammered for this. By doing things like this they're putting the return of the game next week in jeopardy.

If they didn't have the testing done, they should have cancelled the match.

Why are either Dundee Utd or the officials responsible for rangers test results? Going by what’s been said and what happened that evening, it looks as if the tests had been done and it was just the results that were late.

Surely, the onus lies completely and solely with rangers? That’s just trying to apportion blame elsewhere by involving any others. Are we really expecting the officials to check test results now before a game can go ahead?

If it’s true, then it’s pretty reckless by rangers. I don’t expect anything to come of it-but it should be a stark warning to clubs that the procedures should be adhered to and that it’s not a situation that should be taken lightly.

I see people have booed him.

When he sees this he should cut their allowance.

Poorly run councils which are also ungrateful should face some actions.

That right, it was BoJo's first visit to Scotland since becoming PM? Saw someone calculate that based on population and the number of visits he's done it should have been his 20-something visit all things being equal.
