I watched the away game in a bar in Athens, with some fellow Wolves fans, made some Greek friends and next night they had their full lockdown and got taken to a locals bar defying the ban, nice people and had a great 3 days, this game is going to be seriously tough for us but time for our stars to shine

Tough game for sure but as we get towards the final stages of the competition you would expect that. The warning comes from an earlier round of the competition when the Greeks lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal but then won the away leg 2-1 to go through on away goals. They also knocked out England opposition last season by beating Burnley.

Big game for Podence against his former club and he has been impressing in recent games after being given time to settle in

Always a danger that Podence might try too hard against his former teammates but I'm sure he'll have a part to play maybe from the bench. I think we're very capable of going through, but it will be tough, remember they had 10 men for a large chunk if the first leg and we struggled to break them down.

Hopefully we're all rested and ready to go, an early goal should settle the nerves. But again one of the biggest games in the club's recent history and we can't be there to get behind them. A barely significant inconvenience in context but sad nonetheless.

We kick off at 20:00 while at 17:55 Roma play Seville. So we will know our potential QF opponents by the time we kick off, unless that game goes to extra time. It’s a one off game in Germany because their first leg was also called off because of Covid.

Seville ended 4th in La Liga this season and Roma were 5th in Serie A. Roma’s league season ended yesterday with a 3-1 away win at champions Juventus.

Wolves now need to win the Europa League to qualify for the CL otherwise you won't have any european football next season.

posted on 2/8/20

All 2020-21 Europa league matches, including the group stages will be one leg affairs, with a draw to decide who has home field advantage. Same with the Champions league, except for play offs after the qualifying rounds.

I think the qualifying rounds will be one leg but not the group stages

Who are the biggest club left in the competition that don't have a CL spot secured league wise? That club will 'win' it.

So Roma it is. Congrats to them for winning the Europa

Cardiff are trying to loan Dion Sanderson again next season although Glasgow Rangers are also evidently interested too.

The goalkeeper Sarkic who Wolves signed from Villa last week is being linked with a loan to Sunderland

It will pass. Just disillusioned with the whole thing right now after the BS of the last few months.

Was sitting in the garden earlier supping coffee & reading some of the post cup final comments on here and elsewhere and was envisioning a piece of satirical visual art. The trough of UEFA overflowing with gold and silver pig swill, five fat porcine figures with their snouts buried deep within it. Surrounding it, no guarding it, black clad figures representing Sky, referees, VAR, old men in blazers from the PL and FA, beside each figure, a small pile of golden excrement having fallen from the rear end of the franticly feeding porkers. A sixth pig arrives, red body white trotters, the black guard allow it to pass to feed, the other Lancastrian and London pigs snort indignantly as the newcomer eases its glistening snout in to the trough to devour its share.

Before the black guards, another animal, standing proud, barred entry to feast by the combined forces of the old guard. A look of determination, it's zeal to succeed undiminished. It knows that this time he has not been able to outwit the dark forces for this time they have used yet more dark sorcery to outwit the new hungry predator. The wolf looks each of the Murdochian figures before him in the eye and they know that he will return to singlehandedly rip a hole in their malevolent defences. Maybe sooner than they expect.
