Probably the case with Sanchez that the longer he’s there, the longer we aren’t paying the entirety of his wages.

That too although I’d imagine what Inter are paying him isn’t much more than Smallings full wage.
If we were buying Smalling on the back of this season we'd be paying £40m for him.
I'd like to think, for once, we can get a good fee for a player who is sought after in the market. Perhaps he could be used as part of an exchange which seems to be more popular in Italy?
I've read all of Juve, Inter and Lazio are interested.
There will be plenty of takers for Smalling. He is a decent defender who I hope goes abroad for around 18-20m which in todays prices is a very good deal for the buyer. If I were a West Ham, Everton etc I would be snapping uniteds hands off at that deal.
If Sanchez doesn't go to Inter we are stuck with him and his wages which isn't a good thing at all therefore I think Inter can get a cut price deal for him

I think the rumour is probably a load of bollox, but he’s similar to Smalling in many ways: likes to get tight and get a foot in, uses his body well, good in the air, brave and pacey.
Better with the ball at his feet as well (which, let’s be honest, isn’t so difficult).
Even Ed should be able to get a decent fee for Mike. Sanchez will go on a free. Just getting him off our books is the priority.
Sanchez is likely to leave so I hope he leaves. Smalling is likely to stay so I hope he stays. I forgot they existed.
Mohamed Bouhafsi who is a reliable source in France has stated we have held talks about that young CB from Lille. Surely any move for him would be subject to at least 2 of Jones, Rojo and Smalling leaving.
Crazy to let Smalling go before we bring anyone in. Even if Ole doesn’t want him. For me he still are best Cb at the club and that’s saying a lot.

His performances didn't strike a chord with the fans.
I personaly rate smalling more than any of our current cbs. He has a major flaw in his game as he is not very good on the ball but he hardly makes errors that lead o us conceding a goal/chances. About a year or so ago I actually checked the stats to see how many errrors he had made and he ranked very lowly (in a good way).
I feel nervous watching him on the ball as he looks so awkward with it. If ole is going to persist with having our cbs dally on the ball only o play sideways or backwards passes then smalling will be exposed and I might have an heart attack.
Romano is on fire today. Sanchez is off.

It isn't about dallying on the ball; it's a determined, practised and proven tactical approach designed to pull opposition forwards and midfielders up the pitch to make space for our midfielders and forwards to play in.

Yeah, it isn't though, is it?
We've scored goals as a direct result of from playing out from the back using this tactic.
Why do people think that the most tactically lauded and successful managers in contemporary elite football insist on playing out from the back?
