Same as Bruno I refuse to get overly excited.

Been excited by many signings post SAF and they’ve either failed (Sanchez, Di Maria, Falcao, Bastian) or not live quite up to expectations (Lukaku, Pogba).

Not seen much of him but he has the attributes to succeed in the premier league. Very quick, skilful and has bags of goals and assists for Dortmund performing in the league and CL. This at the age of 20. Due to his age and the fact he is a English makes it different to many of the other big name signings such as Bastian, Di Maria, Falcao, Sanchez etc

As a possible generational talent I think we can allow ourselves the excitement. That could mean our forward line is sorted for the next five years at least.

Could be unstoppable if all 4 reach their potential but surely at some point one will fall behind.

the biggest advantage I can see is his age, I feel older attackers are set in their ways and struggle to adapt to new systems. Age was martial biggest advantage we gave him the benefit of youth when he stuggled.

With the fees involved in the sancho deal would fans give him the benefit of youth if he does not hit the ground running?

I haven’t been impressed in the few games I have seen him play and I am always wary of players from the German league.

Hopefully he can live up to the hype if the signing comes off.

Pretty low risk even if you spend 120m due to his age. Hed have to absolutely stink the place out for this to not end up being a deal in Uniteds favour.

Much more confident of him being a success under Ole than he would under Jose. Ole will love the fact he seems to know where the goal is. Always a risk in every signing though of course.

Low risk how exactly? It's a hell of a lot of money you lose on him if he bombs.

£120m is actually only one and a half year's worth of projected shirt sales. We will make a loss if we don't buy him.

I’ll be honest and say that I don’t watch Dortmund at all. Nor England when he has played for them.

I can’t come to any conclusions about him as stats don’t always tell the whole story.

By all accounts he has done well in the German league, and obviously given his age, he has time and potential to get better. Doesn’t always translate that he will be a success though.

I’ll probably delve more into his stats if or when we sign him. Until then, I’ll reserve giving an opinion on him.

I think the difference now is that our attacking players - well the good ones - are starting to actually play well. So naturally there will be more excitement about bringing a special talent into the club.

I have the same impression. although there was one England game.

I remember the first time I saw some of the best attackers cr7, giggs, pogba, messi (u17 worldcup), martial, greenwood etc The feeling was wow, and I could not wait to tell everyone about the magical talent I had just seen.

I simply haven't had that feeling with sancho yet. But his stats are unbelievable and I am assuming / hoping everyone else is right

So to summarise quite a few posts, we want him if we get him, don't if we don't and a lot of us have never seen him play?

Let’s not sign him then, .

He’d have to bomb pretty fecking hard not to get 120m worth out of him over his United career. You could get 10 or so seasons out of him

this is why I said age is his biggest plus. I have always loved Martial but at 50 million I understand why some wanted him to show more sooner. At 120 million will that patience still be there?

Sometimes a player can be better than their natural ability just by making the right decisions. I haven't seen loads of Sancho, but he usually seems to make the right decisions from what I have seen.

Just looking at his stats, he is averaging a goal or assist every 80 minutes in the German league. That's ridiculous for a 20 year old.

It is. The other noticeable thing from looking at his statistics is his versatility. He's played regularly in different attacking positions. This is why I don't buy into the theory that it will suddenly lead to Greenwood being benched indefinitely. I think it will just allow rotating of the attacking players. Like Rashford's form fell off a cliff at the end of the season. That wouldn't have been such an issue, if we had quality to replace him. Bruno too was tired and lacking in form, and Sancho would even be capable of playing in an attacking midfield role

I watched his 41 goals and assists compilation on youtube earlier.

He looks decent but a lot of his assists we basic passes that someone finished off well. His goals involved lots of goalkeeper and defender mistakes.

The quality in the Bundesliga is awful.

I fully expect him to struggle here (initially) bar some promising games against lower league teams. When the space is cut we'll see how creative he is.

For £100m it's a risk. Hope it works out though.
