The best part of this it indicates Auba has been convinced that we are making significant signings and have ambition. If Wenger had done this RVP would never have left,amongst others.

Auba is a top player but I doubt anyone was going to pay huge money for a 31 year old especially in current times.
This deal suits both parties. Auba gets a possible last big pay and Arsenal get to keep a quality player.

I think Arteta will improve you but serious investment is needed to compete at the top.
I don't think United or Chelsea will be that great next season. They have better squads but the manager's aren't good enough for their level.
Arteta looks like a top manager in the making. Even Mourinho might have a renaissance.
Only City and liverpool are booked in for top 4 next season in my view.

Even if we sold Ozil we would reinvest the money into the squad. We are a football team, afterall.
Sounds very much like some of the redundancies are in the scouting network - something that was meant to happen a couple of years ago but was delayed when Mislintat left.
I'm sure others will be in hospitality. Obviously no fans = no hospitality. The club did mention, I believe, it expects less companies to be investing in that side of the club in the forthcoming months/years. Do people really expect us to employ people to do nothing?

So when it comes to those people, Yes DJ, we should keep them and pay them to do nothing until fans can come back and they can return to work. People who meet and greet, do stadium tours and serve food and drink. Do not get paid enough per hour to make any significant impact on the total wage/expenses bill we have. I am coming at this from the purely humanitarian aspect of it.
It's not even about the fact they'd get paid to do nothing. It's about the fact that keeping them until fans are allowed back, won't cost Arsenal that much. However for some of them, losing their job now, could cost them everything. Just not the time to take away somebody's livelihood, if/when you easily afford not to.

A lot of football clubs actually employ third party companies or an agency to manage their hospitality.
For example I used to work for a company called Michael Wisher who was an agency supplying staff for Brighton. They were one of several agencies.. So Michael Wisher employed people like me to serve food and drink at every Brighton Home match.
I would imagine Arsenal do something similar rather than full time staff.

At the low level, yeah. They wouldn't be permanent staff. I was referring to higher up. Those in charge of dealing with running the match day staff, dealing with companies etc.
