Here in Ireland we have a silly rule where only pubs who serve food worth over €9 can open and you’re only allowed to stay 105 mins.

I’ve been to a couple of places. One did force food on us and the other didn’t. Neither were in any rush to make us leave at 105 mins.

Both were socially distanced and table service. If it wasn’t for the idiots we could be fine.

That’s only because they know you lot are a bunch of uncouth drunks.

My local has implemented it fine. I've been a few times. Only had to have food once and the 105 minutes rule only seemed to apply to non regulars.

The bit I don't understand is you can go to the pub and have food and drink as much as you want for 105 minutes but you can't go and not have food and drink as much as you want.

It has to be to stop folk moving from pub to pub every 105 minutes. Doesn't really matter much anyway as I reckon they'll all be closed again in around 3 weeks

I went to three pubs and one restaurant in Aberdeen before we went back into lockdown.

Each one required scanning of a QR code.

After our outbreak that data was used to track and trace and after 100+ confirmed cases we have nearly 800 people in self-isolation who may have come into contact.

We had 12 wannabe wags booting off on Saturday because they had been sat on 2 tables of 6 and not allowed to all be together. It’s a fecking global pandemic ffs not as if anyone wants to be in this situation!

I've seen loads of posts on social media of people in bars/restaurants all sat at one table with the message 'Great to be back with friends' (or words to that effect).

Unless they're from the same household (or in a household bubble) this isn't allowed. It's the same people that also criticise others for breaking the regs!

Went to 4 different pubs around Victoria station over the weekend and none of them mentioned contact tracing.

In fact the only place I can think of that did was Ivy Gardens in Chelsea

i can understand americans not being able to comply with the rules put forward by the experts because they're inbreed morons who elected a gameshow host to be their leader, but the brits? i'm so disillusioned..

Ya it’s a foolish rule.

Most places are happy enough if one person in the party gets a meal.

I hope not but you’re probably right about them closing again.
