Dodgy AS FACK!

Hopefully this signals the end of Joorabchian influence at Arsenal too.

We have to do business through agents. The top players are all contracted to super agents so you can't avoid it. However the deal in question was actually nothing to do with Joorabchian. It was Samir Khiat.

And this may actually increase his influence.

I just saw this news and my first reaction was to laugh

Seems like there is a new man in charge every few months

Unfortunately thats not surprising after allowing one man to control the club for so long. It takes time to find the right formula. Structure of the club however discovered the issue relatively quickly. This sort of thing has gone on at other clubs including Barca (with the same man) for years silently rotting the club. So thats a positive for Arsenal however embarrassing the headline maybe.

This is a good point, and fair play to KSE for spotting something was up so swiftly.

Arsenal treating / spinning this as being part of their operational restructuring this summer though

The question to ask is why KSE have taken the best part of 2 years to act

After binning the dictator, it was extremely important to make the transition to normality as seamless as possible and they have failed miserably.

Can anyone say with any confidence that it’s going to be clear skies ahead and we aren’t going to see more ‘restructuring’ in the not too distant future? Arteta must be baffled about what he’s got himself into.

Anyone know how this streamlining is going to help us recruit better players? Does it not just put more power into the hands of the individuals remaining? Hopefully they’re good at what they do or we’re screwed as there are fewer people around to guide/advise/challenge them

Interesting point but this is the structure we had at the club before David Dein left.

Vinai <----> Edelman
Edu <-----> Dein
Wenger <-----> Arteta.

The problems began when Dein was fired in 2007 and Wenger took on the role of technical director and manager.

Definitely not the kind of news you want to read about halfway through a summer transfer window.

All I care about is whether this affects the Aubameyang contract situation.

Excellent point Gillespie.

Especially if its deep clean with Huss Fahmy to follow.

KSE are nothing more than absentee landlords out to prove a point by doing things against the grain.

Which means they will repeatedly continue to fall for smooth-talking snake oil salesmen who promise heaven and earth through running the club differently from everyone else.

Which is why we have never built a complete squad in well over a decade.

The next snake oil salesman will be no different. I wouldn't be surprised to see KSE try to prove a point by parachuting in some exec from the NBA or Silicon Valley.

Why would it affect the Auba situation? We want him stay. He want big money for his last big contract.

Nothing has changed.

From the first minute on I hadnt a good feeling with Raul and the way he is doing business. It was well known how he operates from his time at Barca.

I hope you are wrong. But their laziness in not acting till black bin protests and split in the fanbase before acting the last time suggests you are absolutely spot on. My only fear is that what would more 'interference' look like and would we actually want it!

That's kinda happened already with Gazidis didn't it? He was MLS Chief Exec or something but hadn't been involved in club football. Just a completely corporate guy.

It's clear there's a bloodless palace coup at the club.

I won't claim to be an expert about the matter as I don't even know all the chess pieces involved. At this point, I'm not even sure whether whoever ends up on top will have Arteta in their long term plans.

I wouldn't blame Auba and his people for being slightly apprehensive. This could take a while before the dust settles.

I'll admit the idea of having one of the Kroenkes taking up a permanent physical office at the club scares me a bit. I don't do particularly well with a boss constantly peering over my shoulder, myself.

But then again, it would make it hard for them to ignore the opinions of moaning fans every weekend.

I dunno abt that. We whine a lot but the American fans are on another level. All American owners are used to it.

Only question is why hasn’t anyone been sacked for spunking 80m on Maguire?
