Oh come on chaps. These are all super options. Rooney for Shinnie possibly a bit of a stretch. Nice one 2W

With those teams we will get relegated.

When you think of the McLaren team at Wembley and we've ended up with this.

I'm sorry to say that VC10 is right. We need some signings, and quickly!

I don't know, I've got a good feeling about that team, there's going to be a lot of desire, players who really want to get out the league and try their feet in the premiership, rather than ones who have been there, done that and know they'll be sold off as 'not good enough' as soon as we go up.

One of the issues we've always had is being considered one of the best clubs outside of the Premiership, because it means when players come to us they know if they go up they'll have to find another 'best club outside the premiership' if they still want the level of facilities, contracts etc. so they're more inclined to keep us where we are without making it too obvious.

Personal feeling is that with this team, and the experience some players gained last season we could even win the league.

That's the spirit

Mind you, when the final table was part of the prediction league I always predicted us as champions. I have yet to be proved right so statistically this could well be our year

I don't think our current team on paper is relegation material, equally not a shoe-in for top 6.

I think it'll keep shape well, lacking some cutting edge at the moment though. Could be a bit Nottingham Forest round the edges to start with. 😱 Hoping our youngers can avoid second season syndrome too.

Bit worried about Ang. Very slow in pre-season, hope he is fit for Saturday......

No worries. Just a bit out of the loop and trying to avoid a preseason muscle strain

Might have to play him in a deeper role I think Heb.

Looking forward to seeing Nathan Byrne in action.
Seems like a well-grounded bloke

Another signing from Wigan, are they our feeder club? We may have signed good goal keepers in Carson and Marshall but remember they also sold us Gary Teale and Conor Sammon.

Where are the goals coming from?

And your point is? Tealineo, imortalised in song by Moj, and everything about Sammon that needs to be said has been said.

Byrne MTW and Marshall improve our defence from last year.
Bogle made a lot of mistakes at the back and I think Byrne is a better defender.
Marshall is better than what we currently have and MTW is the kind of ball playing CB that Cocu likes. He'll be comfortable in possession so I don't expect us to shoot ourselves in the foot as often as last season as we build from the back.
Goals look like the problem. Cocu knows that and he's said a couple of attacking players are coming in whether one is the much touted Pole remains to be seen.
It'll be too late for Saturday so with the injuries and Marriott misfiring I don't see us scoring but I don't see Reading scoring either, Scoreless draw for me, Never a bad result first game up.

Marshall
Wisdom TW Clark Forsyth
Bird Evans
MW Sibley Whittaker
Marriot
With whoever left fit for the bench
