Anyone spot Kevin Nolan, assistant manager ? To David Moyes.
IE lost a run of games at Barrow at the start of last season what changed to make them into a promotion side does anybody know ? was it one thing or some dramatic change.
I hope we don't have to suffer similar before the magic dust is sprinkled the town is in bad enough shape as it is.
“Other than probably the Wigan game, where we changed it a lot, this is probably the game where I can see the most. (Ian Evatt) I hope that he is talking about the problems that need addressing or are we missing something?
He also said, "“In my own mind I can see clearly what is wrong and I know how to fix it. That’s football.”
It's to be hoped that he is right otherwise we are in for another bad season. He has raised expectations above anything that the supporters expected, he must now deliver. If it takes a few weeks, so be it.
Didn't we at one time employ a shrink at the club do you think Tobias needs to add one if he does will it help with the losing mentality IE talks about.
Thing is I don't get it when he says things like losing mentality isn't this a new squad with a few old losing mentality types being kept on it's not as if the team yesterday were all part of what is past.
Absolutely Pasty. Doyle and a few others have won promotion so if losing three games gives you a losing mentality, we really do have a problem.
It's far too early to write him off but his experience as a manager is limited so we will just have to wait and see what he is really capable of. I just think that he has made a rod for his own back by shouting off about winning the league.
I like confidence and it is a necessary trait for a manager but over-egging the cake is not a sensible thing to do.
Is this good news ? It is for the fact that it highlights what rotten scoundrels football agents are now what about Zouma is he a hit miss or maybe.
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/18717658.bolton-wanderers-consider-contract-offer-former-defender-yoan-zouma/
also included in the above an example of beating the rude words filter
YOAN Zouma, to be honest I didn't see him play. Is he a good defender or is he better than the players that we have in that position?
I've made my mind up now on Zouma
I've marked him as 'Potential` one who could be used if good enough or loaned out to improve by training with us and playing elsewhere.
Roll the dice and see how he goes
Well said Pasty, there’s enough there to take a chance with, a bit headless Chicken at times, but he’s quick & commanding, like the rest of the new defenders. No worse for sure,
Having thought about the shrink I mentioned further up and then reading the local rag.
Today isn't the first time somebody at the club has intimated how strange it is without fans as they talk about how we can get behind the team and give them a lift call it the 12th man sort of thing.
Perhaps we do need a shrink if the team can be given a boost and extra motivation by the fans noise and cheering but are struggling without us what's the answer who's going to get to the bottom of it and find an alternative way to lift them while we are absent.
I'll give Tobias a ring see if he knows a good therapist apparently in the good old US of A they are very common everybody knows one it could give us an extra edge.
If we didn't have the numbers we already have at cb I would look at getting zouma back but as pointed out there are currently 8 cbs at the club. Limited numbers and I would be looking for a genuine wide man and a striker, big lad to give us something different. If they could loan out senior, brockbank, move on Delaney zouma may be an option.
What's all this with Barnsley talking to clubs about ground sharing due to various fingers in the ground pie.
A good excuse to cut costs in these funny old times empty stadiums don't come cheap
If there's a salary cap and rules on expenditure shouldn't the number of registered or not players be sent to the bin.
It's up to the clubs how they spend the money provided the spend is within the rules on squad size registered player numbers are now redundant aren't they as the spending cap and financial rules will do the limiting as it is.
Amen
Regarding empty stadiums, the conditions are the same for all teams. I do realise that fans can give the team a boost but having said that I feel that reason for losing a game is a poor excuse and if that is the feeling in the squad it's about time they all grew a pair of cahones.
As for ground sharing, would the expenditure be so much lower? I don't know all the answers but would the rates have to be paid, the ground staff would need to keep on top of the needs of the pitch, ticket staff and other essential staff would be needed and maintainance would still be needed to be done. Possibly the list of other essential work would be larger than the ones that I have mentioned.
Even when ground sharing, whan the fans are allowed back you would still need the same staff to make sure that health and safety and the running of the ground is actioned properly.
It's lucky we are not allowed to be part of the trial for the fans return imagine trying to work out who would be the chosen ones to be allowed in.
A leaked letter from the EFL describing the next 48 hours as “critical” in an attempt to stave off financial disaster for clubs.
The issue is money, with the EFL projecting a £200m loss across its three divisions if fans cannot return this season, roughly £22m per month over the course of the season.

Do we need to start thinking about raising more money to help out ?
That seems like a good idea. For each club the emphasis has to be targeted to your own club first. Perhaps the Supporters trust could be the entity to organise a plan with the club.
The structure of football as we know it may soon be coming to an end.
It would be better to find out what FV needs before anything is done on an ad hock basis. If the report is correct one wonders just how badly it will effect the different leagues.
I would think that the Premiership could and should sort out its own destiny. Perhaps leagues one and two will be the most badly affected followed by the Championship.
I'm not sure I'd fancy a trip to that posh hospital where Dennis Politic sent even if the club was paying.
It's across the road from Southern cemetery.
Good to see he's through the op the hard work starts soon shame we left Burnden I lost count of the players with knee injuries who used to use the embankment steps as they recovered many a day you'd see Andy Walker and the like hopping up the steps.

Good Luck Dennis.
Do keep up GWD there's questions later
When I lived abroad I liked to read the actual letter as it appeared in the Beano, I have friends who are still there.
Try in future to put in more detail in your post Pasty. 😉
gwd the Ben is lacking so much if you read mine you'll often find they have added detail or made before they appear in the local rag.
I'm not surprised the local hack didn't mention using the embankment steps for rehabilitation he was hardly ever seen at the ground match day only lazy beggars the lot of them spending too much time at the trough
I think promotion and a good FA Cup run are essential in the current season, if we are to be given any chance of survival.
The premier League teams could have done so much more to help the smaller clubs, with pre season friendlies etc, with teams around there areas, over the last 5 years at least.
