This is not just football this is M & S football
You lost a peno shootout in a crap comp, settle lad.
You give the champs a serious run for their money and yet the wrist slashers are out.
Boy this board is gonna be more fun than usual this season.
Hull were always going to be well up for this one.
Awful performance from us but we had 11 changes
Poveda did show some moments of promise
Draw a line and move on
Completely agree Shaun.
With Cooper In against Liverpool we may have took a point. One or two injuries and our first team is significantly weakened. Last season we were pretty fortunate with injuries over the season but this is a big step up and teams have 22 first team players. The lack of competent cover for almost all positions is poor which is why Dallas ended up playing all over the place.
Been a really poor transfer window so far. Berardi and White replaced by Koch and Rodrigo.
Struijks played well to be fair when in the Philips role. Looks a step above the other young defenders. Could do with another CB and Am and that's fine by me.
stop your feckin' whining
You would still playing in the championship if you had Heckingbottom or the other 50 managers before.
You got promoted with average players who he improved.
Shaun, for a fighting man, you arn't half a f 8 nny mate
Not really sure what the thinking was, very few of the team were on their game and too many young players, people played out of position (no idea what Shackleton's best position is but it certainly isn't right back, where was Casey playing?), passes going astray (Douglas kicked the ball into touch on a few occasions), strange changes (what was the thinking when he brought Gotts on for Bogusz). It was just weird.
We already know we need signings - we know the club are working on more recruits
Why the over reaction?
We will have very good games - Liverpool
We will have average games
We will have poor games
Take everything in perspective and control your expectations
Best hope nobody changes the league rules to must win games!..
Imagine, if games are drawn and there has to be a winner so pens are introduced to settle scores!..
Two games played and lost because we were out done on penalty's, the end is nigh it could be said!..
Not sure if anyone realises but even the best teams in the world want better, but I think the Leeds board are doing their bit to get the best they can!..

Gotta had our first shot on target And one of only two I think
Having watched the whole game I would say that was shockingly bad. Just looked like a bunch of individuals all on trial and all just trying to impress Bielsa as individual players. No cohesion or teamwork. No Bielsaball. Not going to draw any conclusions from that performance other than it's clear we lack depth of quality for a PL squad. If we get hit with injuries and suspensiond, we'll struggle.
I never understand why people cannot get their heads around the fact that a club can concentrate on big summer signings and also youth players
A key signing is going to take so much time, effort and money and has so many challenges associated
I am pleased by the logic taken by the club in the transfer market so far
1: Used our new PL status to sign some promising young players
2: Signed the Spanish international striker
3: Knew where to draw the line with White
4: Signed a current German international defender
Quality over quantity and these signings need time to settle.
Ideally 2 more quality signings to follow, De Paul and a left back ideally.
But no reason to panic just yet
A Yorkshire derby vs a team with ex players...never an easy game. Not reflective of our position as it was a patched up team to boot.
We have had a summer of strengthening the youth ranks, which are the baby steps to future success. The 1st team is still technically at a man for man less since Bielsa came in.
Ain't replaced Saiz.
Ain't replaced Veira.
So things can only get better.
don't care one iota about this cup onto the real games. enough friendlies.
Think the cup game was treated like a pre-season game to evaluate players some more and give them a run out.
I wonder how many from our side paid a tenner to watch that?
"Club needs to ditch this nonsense policy of signing boys for a man's game."
I wonder how many times that was said about Messi before he made his mark as a world class footballer!..

But didnt you as a fresh faced youth get employee of the month at Hombase back in 2012?

That's irrelevant surely. To me that was Bielsa's final capitulation. Not a sign it was a good decision more an indication of how poor the rest of his selections were.
You won't find a bigger than me but Wednesday night was a mess.
Anyway it's done now and at least he has had a full week to work on ironing out some of the defensive issues from last week and building on the stuff we did well.
A dangerous game Saturday with the expectation level swinging from one extreme to the other and that can present a challenge.
Absolutely key that we are tight at the back as with our energy and movement further up the pitch chances will come along.
*won't find a bigger fan of Bielsa than me.
