Ditch sancho

I've felt this way for a while tbh. But we know how much our negotiators love a bit of brinkmanship, so it's just not going to happen. And with that being the case, we will end up bowing to Dortmund's demands anyway, as we'll have placed all our eggs in one basket

Agree we need a CB.

Disagree on the DM though. Between Fred, Matic, McTominay we have enough in that role.

Id love us to sign a proper CF

I agree if we still get a lower priced winger.

Splashing that much on one player with our problems would be foolish.

Not all the eggs, we have signed Donny

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say that Leipzig and the player clearly had an agreement that he could go for that price next Summer if he stays for this season. And considering Leipzig are rich and already got the Werner money, I doubt they are under any pressure to sell Upamecano whatsoever

If we signed say, Sarr, Telles & Upamecano, you'd have to see that as a decent summer with van de Beek in there too.

Personally I'd just use Smalling next to Maguire for a season and save the cash at CB for next summer at this stage of the market.

But either way, the CB position needs addressing and so does the RF slot.

I did not realise we missed out on him, I had not paid attention to him before but I like what I see

You definitely need better CBs, Maguire and lindelof are basically Silvestre and squillaci on a bad day

I have been saying for many, many months that we cannot sign Sancho at the cost of strengthening elsewhere in the squad.

We spend the money on Sancho *and* commit funds to strengthening elsewhere on the pitch, or we drop the pursuit and spend his fee across those positions in need of strengthening, including across the supporting line and at CB.

VdB and Sancho won’t be enough, no matter how good Sancho is.

I've not bought into the Sancho hype to be honest and for 100m, I would be expecting someone like the Ronaldo that left United for Madrid.

Have this horrible feeling he will be another Memphis

I suspect lack of inward movement is related to the lack of outward movement when it comes to centre backs.

Tend to agree. I'd like a CB, DM and another forward, ideally RF/RW. Still won't be surprised if we pay the asking price for Shinji Sancho at the eleventh hour and get nobody else.
