Don't think it's just Koch. We have played six defensive players so far, one of whom had Pl games before, Cooper, and that was almost 11 years ago (he now holds the record for the longest gap between premier league starts). These players will need time to make the step up, but I have faith that they will.

Hope you’re right Lubo. We can’t hope to bang the goals in every game.

Yes, we'll miss him. But, way too early to write off
Koch & Cooper as a CB pair. Or any combo that
we end up using this season. Saying that Ben's
brilliant.

I watched the Brighton game today. Ben's one
hell of a player. Leeds United will always be grateful
to him for his immense contribution to our success.

For me, I'm going to follow his progress as it relates
to England. He should be playing at full International
very soon. Him and Lamptey are going to be nuts
good as a tandem at BHA. Brilliant stuff.

I remember reading early summer how Brighton
were committing to going with a youth movement.
They're doing that. And they look very good.

Will always feel like ben was the one that got away.
However, he was Brighton's from the day he walked
in the door at Leeds. So only thing to say is good
luck to him. Pretty sure he's going to be one of England's best.

If I am honest I don’t think it’s just a defensive issue

Koch has made errors but they are the sort of errors he can learn from. He actually looks solid.

The concern for me is that when Fulham were breaking against us we didn’t look to have a midfield there to defend. It left us isolated. That was the case against Liverpool too but that was more understandable

Phillips is brilliant but is a DM in the mould if a Busquets, Rhodri, Pirlo, Jorginho

He isn’t like the other type; Kante or Fernandinho. I sometimes think we lack that sort of player

Either way Phillips should continue to be a huge success

Koch was excellent for 93 and half minutes. 1 rash challenges ruined a really good performance from him. He did well against mitrovic and was a threat at set pieces.

Cooper was poor. Badly out of the defensive line for the second goal allowing the space for Reid to run into and score. He also never jumped for the third and made a couple of other bad errors that thankfully came to nothing.

Meslier wasn’t great. Sun in his eyes didn’t help but w have seen people on here not happy with any of the goals.

Read some people felt Philips wasn’t good. Thought he was miles better after a poor display against Liverpool. Turned a little easily twice, one that contributed to the Fulham second but look at the back 4 defensive line - total disaster.

Dilly ding, dilly dong, guys, we are in the Premier League. It takes time to adapt. It was Coops first game too. Brilliant start to the campaign, we will put the blades to the sword next week.

White’s a terrific footballer but he wasn’t the finished article defensively. Added to that centre backs need to gel as a pair. Koch is probably a bit over keen to impress and made a poor decision to go to ground on Saturday. What I like about him is, both this week and last week his mistakes didn’t see him go into his shell. He needs to sort out his marking at corners, but let’s judge him in a month or two.

Our strategy is generally to defend through attack, when we don’t retain the ball, we find ourselves on the wrong end of a transition at the wrong end of the pitch. Prem teams will try and disrupt kp and feed off our errors. He’s been turned off the ball and caught in possession on it, more in both games than we’ve seen under bielsa. For me that’s the key - our defenders are geared/chosen to win the ball back high up the pitch, we need to get our passing game going and the defence will look better.

Unlike many Leeds fans seemingly I like coops but he was in no-mans land for the second, Dallas had 2 men, and Reid got a run on him... I’d say a natural left back smells the danger a bit better but it is what is, errors compound.

I noticed meslier covering his eyes for the cross for the third... mitrovic seemed untroubled though!

Early days, need to get settled as a unit... but quickly

If Meslier had the sun in his eyes then maybe he should adopt the Alan Knott look,

I'd hope both were looking in the direction of the ball, but maybe that explains it - meslier was so blinded by the sun he didn't realise the ball was coming in from the other wing.

Think White is a fantastic player... of course we are going to miss him whilst our defenders get upto speed.

but lets not kid ourselves and think the grass is greener.. White was untested in the PL.. and to some extent, still is.. Newcastlle were very poor yesterday.. lets see how White does through the season.

have to say though.. impressed with White, so far

The keeper started to come but changed his mind. He should have continued once he started to come and made it his. Had he stayed on his line he simply catches it.

Poor decisions cost keepers.

I’m more worried about his shot stopping - he seems slow to get down at times.

As for White - good player but he needs testing by the best yet. I also think Koch will be OK. I think he might score a few too.

I was impressed with Koch his pace. He was quicker than Mane in 1v1.

I think the defensive problems stems from your pressing tactics going 1v1 all over the field. When one player loses his battle there is a sea of space in the middle of the park. Bielsa wants to dominate the centre of the pitch and you lost that in the second part of the second half.

I was impressed with Anguissa for them. Looked big and powerful, with a good bit of pace, and nice technical play to boot. Think he will be a big player for Fulham.

Would have been nice to keep White and get Koch as a backup/alternative for Cooper.

Brighton's player, their decision to keep him (seemingly against his wishes). Appreciate that, but Potter's motivation seemed to have a hefty portion of keeping him out of our team to weaken us.

For that reason I hope Brighton crash & burn this season, at least for long enough so that Potter gets the boot. Wouldn't wish relegation on any fans.

Feel the same. He looks a player. Gets in very good scoring positions at set pieces. Not as fluid looking as
White, but he's no slouch. His passes are nice also.

As I said before, him and Cooper will need time.

After two games one thing is obvious. We are badly missing White in defence.

This is far from obvious.

It might be worth saying that if White hadn't been lucky enough to get game time when he did he might not have made the grade he has!..

Koch has done well for his first 2 games, is it not possible for him if not already to be better than White after a bit of time with Bielsa's crew?..

I think he's going to be as good as if not better!..

True Germany. Koch looks good. Given time within
the Bielsa world of coaching, who knows how good
he'll be. He's not a donkey that's for sure.
