People say we can’t change it until the end of the season to make it fair but we simply can’t have this nonsense going on for a whole season.

CL last season aside, it really does feel like we get shafted by VAR on a regular basis.

Honestly feel disgusted after that. Should probably be happy a rival has dropped points but it’s the sick feeling that our game is being ruined.

After being victims of this disgrace of a rule for two weeks in a row now, would Spurs fans prefer to see the rule change immediately, or at the end of the season when all teams will have suffered the same fate?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Has to change immediately. Absolutely ridiculous rule.No common sense is applied.

And I write an article yesterday about it after the Everton game saying what a jole of a rule it is.

Is the new law actually been applied correctly bv people with common sense? If you're jumping for the ball and it goes over you then your arm is coming out on the way down to land so it's a natural body position plus you then have your back to play.

Nope. Keep the rule. The likes of Sandy spent all last season crying about how Liverpool benefitted from rule changes in the middle of the season.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, watch him change his mind

You would keep a ridiculous rule in place to annoy a poster on an Internet forum? So you have no life whatsoever basically?

If you're an attacking player, you may as well just try to flick it onto a defenders arm now in the penalty area. Guaranteed penalty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or at the very least taking lame chest height shots into a crowded box knowing you've got a chance of it hitting something
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know, I think it is much more difficult to aim at a defender and hope it hits his arm than actually put a cross or shot in. You'll also get slated more by your teammates and manager if you've kicked the ball at a defender, rather than passing/shooting.

Rules like this transcend which team you support.

I remember Sheffield United getting facked over v us last year as var took 4 minutes to judge that Lundstrum's toe was a mm offside. I was actually facked off that got disallowed.

It's just getting stupid now. How can these law makers be so utterly clueless?

That + the CL run are the only examples i can think off the top of my head where we benefitted. Whereas today, Southampton last week, sheff united away last season, leicester away last season, Newcastle last season, Bournemouth we were facked over

I was at that game

Right after the decision both sets of fans were chanting ‘Fack VAR’

Honestly I think fit the most part VAR is terrible. Even in offside cases, they should only overturn a goal if it’s clearly offside. Ruling out these goals for a few centre metres offside is ridiculous

Then your problem is with the laws, not VAR. VAR only highlights where referees may have made an error in regards to the laws.

It was meant to be clear and obvious not ones where you have to get a ruler out and start measuring to the nearest cm.

Rule is crap and having read that is also being applied by idiots who have no clue.

Leads to lost points, leads to red card far Kane. Total joke.

With the handball rule the way it is and Kane's inability to hit a free kick anywhere but into the wall, it's very important we keep him on them. Could be a few penalties in it for us.

posted on 27/9/20

Stay tuned, Wolves haven't played yet and we generally get mugged big time. These decisions are feckin outrageous. You can train and work your ass off all week only to lose two points in the dying seconds through something as nonsensical as that.

I thought it was a good decision. Arm up in the air, penalty. Spurs players of all players should know this after the CL final. Bloody had Spurs in my bet too. Poor finishing to blame for the draw.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. Any other season this would be seen as a normal decision. Media darling spurs can't be wronged against though can they

People need to stop blaming VAR. VAR doesn’t make the rules, it just makes sure the rules are applied. It’s actually being used far better this season than last, with refs actually going over to check their decisions themselves and actually acknowledging their own errors.

posted on 27/9/20

VAR is definitely part of the problem.

It has reduced football to analysing slow motion replays and black & white decisions regarding the positioning of body parts.

Without VAR you wouldn’t have that and it’d be far more linked to common sense.

Not wholly or even mostly VAR’s fault but it’s definitely part of the problem.

Apart from they are selective what they look at, depending on the club involved, there have been many instances of decisions not being reviewed that were far more clear cut errors than other decisions that were over turned or retained.

Look no further than the Newcastle hand ball today, his arm was not out stretched, but his arm clearly blocks a pass to Kane and moves towards the ball, yet nothing was given and no review by VAR.

I actually think a lot of the officials have an anti Mourinho agenda, hence why we are almost always on the wrong end of any kind of debatable decision.
