Mostly let-down by individual errors from the more experienced players, that should know better...

Captaincy debut to forget for Silva, but I'll allow (for obvious reasons).

Kovacic was passive and sloppy in midfield.

Caballero should do better for the first goal...positioned too close to near post, didn't give himself a chance of getting a hand to that shot.
Kepa seemingly remonstrating on the bench was quite amusing.

Kante performance was so so.

The less said about Alonso, the better.

A very good summation mf,I agree in general, just wish Tammy would get his long legs in sync ! he really must work on this, and get his head down more .
A C,does indeed seem to be getting his act together a bit more, lets just get some consistency.
Now we await the arrival of (hopefully) a competent goalkeeper, and also same same L/B.

Full-debuts for Mendy and Chilwell midweek with any luck.

Mount did well, his shooting distance from range can always come in handy. I have noted an interesting debate on where people think his future position should be - a few think he will/could be played deeper in the future. I can see why, but moments like today makes me think he is at his best in the final third, mainly for his goal threat and movement.

Tammy I am happy for, the winning goal was classic Tammy, opportunistic poaching. I feel he gets a little under-respected in general..his potential is genuinely to be a 20-30 goal a season striker I feel.

RJ did well to create good chances. I would still like to see even more urgency and aggression to his game going forward, but nevertheless I liked us purposefully using him as an outlet in first half, he is a good weapon to have.

Yep, he did well for the goal bit otherwise quite predictable in other facets of his performance. But I hope the goal gives him confidence to further improve his dynamism and invention.

Lineup tomorrow against Spurs, should see lineup like this:

Mendy
Azpi Tomori *Zouma Chilwell
Havertz Kante/Jorginho(?) Barkley
Cal/Mount Girooo Werner

*Unavailability against West Brom was a mystery.

Can't see Pulisic or Ziyech starting matches, before the international break. Minutes off the bench.

Hudson-Odoi's goal was very encouraging. He's never concerned me too much when he's running at people, the innovation/dynamism there will come when his confidence is back, it's finding those gaps between/behind defenses I don't see enough of, but soon as he released the ball to Havertz you knew where he was going. You saw him spot it before he laid the ball of

Great to see from him and beautiful goal, would like more of it
