Paul seems a strange middle name for Saiss to have.

Haha yes this stood out to me as well. Very peculiar and wonder if it's a mistake.

Just took a look and his mum is actually French so maybe explains it.

Yeah, I looked it up after. Born in France. I'm a bit disappointed it has a rational explanation.

One name on that list which is strange is Miranda. Where is he, what is he doing, does he play at all?
=====================================

Miranda is still registered with us until the end of the season, therefore he's included in the 25. However, he's not been given a squad number, so I'm surprised he hasn't had his contract cancelled. Maybe he's content just to pick up his wages until an offer comes in for him during January, or his contract expires on 30th June next year.

John Thomas Ruddy. Bet he's delighted with his parents for that one.

Vinagre on the bench for Olympiacos tonight.

Good news that Max Kilman has signed a new 5 year contract today

Blast from the past. Ivan Toney, a wunderkind we were linked with a few years ago got two goals tonight

Great news, Looks very good to me.

Really rate Kilman based on what I have seen so far. Obviously early days, but he looks really good and definitely needs an extended run in the side now.

Would be disappointed to see him lose his place to Saiss at the back now, he has earned it

Has scored two goals in three successive games in fact. Looks like he is finally matching expectations the last few seasons.

Speaking of blasts from the past i see Jed Wallace is one of the best players in the championship these days.

Seen a few negative comments online about Semedo’s performance against Leeds and certainly in the second half what limited joy Leeds were having in attack was coming from his side. Personally I think we have seen enough glimpses of his ability to know he will settle down to being a good signing. The pace of the English game often comes as a surprise to players coming in from other European leagues and we can recall that it was months before Dendoncker and Podence were deemed ready for a run in the first team. Also we have to remember that he has come for Barcelona which is recommendation in itself about his ability but I suspect in all his time with that club he will rarely have been in a position where they were put under such pressure as Leeds put us under at times on Monday. Barca would regularly have at least 70% possession in most of their La Liga games which does make life easy for the full backs. Semedo will come good but even players of his quality have a learning curve when they change clubs

The problem with Semedo is that the errors he was making against Leeds were so basic. A lot of it was misjudging the flight of a ball or switching off to allow a runner beyond him. Fortunately, he reminded me a bit of Iorfa where his pace allowed him to recover from basic errors.

He obviously has the technical ability and physical attributes. He can't keep making basic errors like he did on Monday night though.

I think Hoever would be the better option, just not sure he will get the chance to show it.

Must admit I didnt notice Semedo's defensive misdemeanors quite so much in the Leeds game but they were glaringly obvious in the West Ham game but that was just a few days after he'd signed.

The Premier League and the English game in general is no respecter of reputation, he's going to have to prove himself as a competent defender or risks being targeted.

He’ll be fine but it’s all come as a bit of surprise to him so far it seems. If not then Doherty can’t get in the Spurs team so we can always get him back at half price

Watching the EL matches with a small pang of envy. Good to see a small number of fans in the ground in Vienna.

With Wolves having given new contracts to Nuno, Jimenez, Coady and Kilman and one about to be agreed with Traore, the only first team squad member out of contract at the end of the season is Saiss, although they do have an option to give him a one year extension

Doherty and Bale linking up well, pleased to see Jota and Doherty succeeding with their new clubs, wish they were still with us but we move on

Has anyone seen the Jurgen Klopp splitting image scenes, very good also Greta Thumberg as a West Ham fan

posted on 23/10/20

I'm not sure that Doherty will be the success at Spurs. He's been an un-used sub in the last 2 league games and plays in a straight back 4. I think most of us agree that he's better as a wing back and his defensive duties have faltered in recent seasons.

Aurier has replaced him, scoring 1 and had 1 assist. He might have a fight on his hands to get a regular spot.

Clocks change somewhere. The NFL start times have moved back an hour this week over here.
