Hazard since leaving Chelsea?

Injuries really. Too many knocks and being kicked from pillar to post for years. Add that and it seems he has an issue with his weight which could be assisting him in getting injured and it hasn't worked out.
Similar thing happened with kaka.

I'd be surpised if he's started 20 games for madrid.

in terms of transfers our signing of hazard could be the best big money signing the league has ever seeen.

£30 million for the hottest prospect in europe, we got his best years and he was a poty and best player in the league for a time, he then was sensational in his last season getting us top 4 and silverware. We then sold him for something like £120 million.

29 year old who's weight has occasionally been suspect throughout his career, has been playing regularly at senior level in a top 5 league since he was 17 and has consistently had the shiiit kicked out of him through all of that.

In hindsight it's not surprising that hazard would be an early decliner

Chris, not a bad summary.

Hi Flash.

Ha ent seen you on here for ages. Are you well?

He always lacked that drive for his ridiculous natural ability to be genuinely world class. Chelsea have mugged Real big time.

It’s like boxers who turn pro young, they tend to decline younger too.

You've been incognito Flash ! where've you been ?

As for Haz, he really has had a woeful time at RM,I feel sorry for him,but as Nick says,an accumulation of injuries over a few years seems to have caught up with him,but I wouldnt de surprised for him to bounce back, but maybe somewhere else !
As you infer, i don't think he could return to us now,the whole...errrm ball game, has moved on,we are going with other younger talents now.

but still wish him the best of luck.

I heard a commentator say that he had scored something like 2 goals in 2 years or something staggering.

Hooefully the next 'galactico' says galactino to going to that awful club.

Just checked and Hazard had over 40,000 senior minutes under his belt at club level before he even got to Madrid, all for top flight clubs. I think people forget about his Lille days.

For comparison, some other 29 year olds

Van Dijk - 33,500 senior club minutes
De Bruyne - 35,500 senior club minutes

In terms of minutes hazard basically has the equivalent of an extra 2 or 3 seasons under his belt, that's gonna see him decline sooner

And that includes the season he was injured most of it and jose made him play basically.

I’d definitely have him back at Chelsea. This team could do with another wide player.

Not sure why it hasn’t worked out for him at RM but whenever I watch him he is hardly involved in play. Whilst with us everything went through him.

G'day Biggish. I have been away for a while.

Combination of lots of things really.

You're going to think weird statement.............but I've not really enjoyed our league, without the fans. It just feels like watching training matches.

What makes that statement even weirder is I am kind of enjoying watching what I consider to be my 2nd team or at least my Scottish team.... Rangers. I think that's a lot to do with me really REALLY wanting them to stop Celtic doing 10 in a row!!

But i am more excited about watching that than our own league at the moment. My only fear about if Rangers do win the league is, will our press make it all about HIM?

I know what you mean about empty stadiums but if you put that to one side I think there is plenty to. E optimistic about over this Chelseq squad.

And I hate Celtic so I can even live with Stevie G getti g his ring kissed by the medias

As for Hazard.

He was never an athlete. His body shape is far from it. Whilst having a big arris and a low centre of gravity has been easential in the prime years of his playing career, it could be after playing so much football that his non athletism is becoming and increasing burden.

I would only want him back at Chelsea on a free

Biggish that would be the only scenario. I keep hearing in my head "His time is over". I think it's relevant.

Mark Hughes 2nd coming at Man Utd is one of the few examples I can think of off the top of my head where it was better 2nd time around for both club and player.

-------------------
I get what you mean about being optimistic. No-one can accuse me of 'sour grapes' because we are in most cases playing well and scoring goals. And this is still what I consider (in spite the money spent) a team in transition, or at least a new team, without much of a pre-season.

The signs are promising better things to come IMO. Frank is also developing. For me sometimes his in game management is baffling. But then show me a manager who doesn't baffle at times?

He was never going to be a Messi as he just doesnt have the drive and determination to perform week in week out.

Do you know what? I'm not sure Messi's work rate has been all it could be neither. I think he's more naturally gifted than Ronaldo, but when their careers are over, I think Ronaldo's CV will look better and he would have driven most of that himself IMO,

And that gives me dry boak to say, because I really cannot stand Ronaldo.

It is true. Haza was brilliant big match player but never wanted hat tricks v lesser sides

Tbh I would take him back. I agree with the points in the article that he hasn’t done well at Madrid just due to being the wrong club, a bit of bad luck, maybe not wing the star player anymore, lack of motivation. Given he’s not 30 yet and knowing the performance he brings to Chelsea I think it would almost be a no brained to not bring him back, if he was available.

*a no brainier to bring him back

He's had some bad injuries I think and he is trying to get back to his formidable self. It takes time and sometimes, depending on the injury, he may never be the same again. Hope he does though - quality player and also his brother isn't too bad!
