Milan 4 Celtic 2

You have to applaud Rangers for continually improving as Celtic have slipped back hopefully enabling us to take over as the top dogs again.

We look a very well coached side this season so i think even this Celtic side on form would be under serious pressure from us.

But the fact yous are schite at the moment is more pleasing.

had a top coach, he left us in the lurch, and instead of employing lennon until the end of the season and getting another top coach in we decided to not bother and just give him the job as he was baw deep in radox.

Most celtic fans i know understood that the biggest threat to ten was our own board. That was the moment we knew was coming eventually, we didn't know what it was going to be, but we knew it was coming.

It is strange that your board seemed to think Warburton was a bigger threat than SG.

After we beat you in the semi under Warburton you responded by paying top dollar for Brendan.

Despite the fact the warning signs were there about SG and his team (European progress, OF success etc) it is almost as if the challenge wasnt taken seriously.

Its almost as if the board also believed some of the pash peddled on here and in the media.....

Ach Lenny will do its only Stevie G and his team of bottlers....

Time will tell if the transformation in Rangers is real and can be sustained. But so far the signs are overwhelmingly positive.

The season on season progress has continued at a steady pace. I was dismissed previously on here for stating that is all I asked of Rangers under SG in years 1 and 2.

A trophy would have been nice but, fingers crossed , our patience will be rewarded this season.

our board have a track record of only doing what the bare minimum is to stay ahead, and its a dangerous game.

i find it hard to compare warburton with gerrard, they didn't have nearly the same resources or funding.

Lots of different opinions on players

FWIW re our defence, defending has to start at the front and Eddy or anyone else in the front 4/5 isn't cutting it. Our press has disappeared and that affects the quality of the ball coming into the CMs/defence area.

I wonder if any analysis is being done on stats cos you have to imagine Broony is off a cliff? FFS even the academy the boys are all looking at max speed, sprint #s, distances, tackles won etc. - they know what is expected.

It is so bad that I'm starting to believe in conspiracies like the 5-way agreement said we can have 9iar and whatever else but after that we have to chuck it big style?

I think, if we're all being honest with ourselves, that we've all been quite surprised at how well Steven Gerrard has been doing at Rangers. They've kicked on massively after looking a bit meh at the beginning of the year.

They seem pretty unstoppable at the moment.

SG has never won a league. Maybe it'll happen, maybe it won't. He'll never have a better chance.

Indeed.

See I totally understand the need for fiscal prudence (in my former profession it was the number one requirement), but our board took that to the nth degree ... to the point that it easily cost us well north of £60m in CL dosh over the years. Year after year we had a free pass at the qualies, but without fail we wouldn't invest in the squad to address major weakness until AFTER we'd qualified ... which, more often than not, meant we didn't, even though we often had very winnable ties. That wasn't being prudent, that was dereliction of duty. No guarantees we would have qualified every time, we wouldn't ... but 2 or 3 more times should have been very achievable, with better preparation.

As I said earlier, we SHOULD have been able to get so far ahead of Rangers financially it might have taken a generation to claw back. Taking the "just doing enough" approach has led us to this shambles of a season ... possibly earlier than we all thought, but we knew it was coming.

The gave it away

Seriously, as DtJ says it was maybe coming but I doubt even bears could have imagined the precipice we've fallen off even allowing for NL given the past form and the purchases? It is almost unimaginable territory?

There’s another stroke of COVID luck for rangers.

Dundee United management team and 9 first team
Players will miss this weekend and next to self isolate.

You kants would find salmons in the Clyde this season.

As someone said the other day, why not give oko-flex/dembele a chance? Chr1st, Christie is bad enough on the right but to play him on the left! Look at the bench last night, that's not going to frighten any team. Why 2 gk?

The 10 is huge but what comes with it (better chance to qualify for CL & associated money) should be the motivation from the board down. Rangers have backed SG & they are doing well just now but can they continue to back him financially? We should be out of site of them by now, both on & off the park, but we've allowed them a chance.

Safety is important, and we also have Helander self isolating at the moment
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Plus no Edmunson or Jones.

Both vital players

In reality it might make beating United a bit easier, but if we have any hopes of winning a title we shouldnt be getting concerned over playing Dundee Utd either way.

So far this season has gone as well as any Rangers fan could have hoped

We have been excellent over the piece and the majority of the credit goes to us really.

But lets not fail to acknowledge the additional joy and entertainment that Celtic have given to Rangers fans this season.

It has been truly splendid viewing.

Keep it up please.
