Nick ..... just when i see him being interviewed, on the touch line, he just comes across a bit up himself. It's probably irrational - maybe it's a Chelsea connection thing and i need to do some unconscious bias training ...
I don't hate him personally, but just don't/can't warm to him. Absolutely no issue with his behaviour after our Derby playoff defeat ... he took pees taking from us in the run up and during the match, he gave it back at the end, no issues there at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he’s been actually pretty open and honest in his interviews. Takes losses on the chin. He kicked off with Klopp after their showboating but I honestly don’t see much of what he does wrong. Maybe he is up himself and I’ll keep an eye out but he is a very successful guy so I doubt he got where he is without any self confidence lol
How can you say he's a poor manager with only a few years doing the job. Done well with Derby and so far it's going well with us.
Many wrote us off for top 4 last season, he proved the doubters wrong. Yes, we spent a lot of money this season but to get so many signings to gel quickly takes work. Without pre season and time in between games, he's done a grand job to date.

I think a few are blinded by hatred
Leeds have been exciting to watch, quite like their style of play. Caused problems to both City and Liverpool so expecting a tough game.
Bamford will also want to prove a point against his old club. I like Phillips, Harrison, Rodrigo & Raphinha from your side.
Yeah looking forward to it TJ. Unfortunately it looks like I’m not successful at getting the balloted tickets.
Frank has made his dislike of us as a club as fans and our manager very clear in his interviews. So the dislike we have of him as a fan base is more than understandable. But that’s great. It’s part football and what we as fans love. Especially between Chelsea & Leeds.
We are also yet to be convinced by his ability as a manager. He’s had two seasons in management. Both seasons won less points than the previous manager who was sacked. At Derby he was given 3 players on loan that should have meant they could challenge for autos. That being said he hasn’t done a bad job either and is very inexperienced. A good start this season but again I can’t think of any fantastic performances against a top side. These will need to come before too long given the signings made in the summer.
Hopefully they never arrive!
Back to this game and will be interesting to see how Phillips performs because he will not have anywhere near as much space as Everton gave him. Even Lampard will realise he needs to get Mount to stay as tight as possible to Phillips all game
We literally just beat Sevilla away 4-0 lol

Looked toothless. Then god knows what you think of spurs we were the much better team. Utd I’ve already said we didn’t have our first 11 or formation yet.
Two decent points for this stage of the season. We haven’t lost since playing Liverpool about 2 months ago.
Still waiting for the reply from the person who said it was obvious Leeds will be tactically better when their matches have been absolutely mental this season.
Would be such sweet irony after all those years as a Chelsea player but never getting a chance if Patrick scored a hat trick and we ran riot over the Oligarchs toy.
Very disingenuous or even downright bitter responses on here. A shame. Anyway may the best team win. Good to have Leeds back in the league
Front to back, you guys on paper beat us and beat us handily. However.. Teams like that, have an achilles and its vs teams like us.
You have the class to get around us and give us a hiding, but it's how you cope with the reality of playing a swarming team, who never stop swarming. Who when they get the ball, can ping it around as good as anyone.
Sum of all parts vs individual brilliance
Gonna be a great match up.

Definitely will be some bitterness due to Lampard's sanctimonious response to Spygate. I actually liked Lampard due to watching him in the PL and for England, I'd imagine a lot of younger Leeds fans were the same having not experienced the intense rivalry with Chelsea. But that whole episode made me really dislike him.
Having seen his Derby team play Leeds 4 times, I don't rate Lampard as a manager and nothing I've seen so far at Chelsea has changed my mind. Obviously with the players you have, Chelsea will win most games and gave good scoring and defensive records. Time will tell but if Chelsea want to be winning titles, they'll need a better manager than Lampard.
Well let’s remember all Lampards actions were REactions to spygate. It was Bielsa and co in the wrong.
Also last season it was evident we should win most games,
We had kepa and alonso in the team, kante was injured, lost hazard and played several players with hardly any to no pl experience. What Lampard done last year was a fantastic job and it seems to be getting downplayed because we got to spend the hazard money this year.
. Time will tell but if Chelsea want to be winning titles, they'll need a better manager than Lampard

Ridiculously early to say this. I wouldn’t expect this chelsea team to win the league regardless due to liverpools strength. But who knows. Football fans are fickle I guess

I think this argues my point quite well thank you. 7 games into his second season in charge and he still hadn't worked out which formation to play.
I'm not saying he has done terrible. But he hasn't doing anything to show that he excels tactically. He still isn't getting the most out of the players he has available this season. He definitely didn't at Derby either. And that is ultimately how a manager is judged.
Given the amount of money spent on an already expensive strike force I would expect a manager at the top of the game to at least find a way of scoring 1 goal in the 3 games against 'big 6' opposition.
I'm not sure how you can suggest that these views are disingenuous. For a start you have already excused his short coming due to his lack of experience. So why are you so shocked to hear fans talk about his shortcomings?
Bielsa has managed to squeeze every last drop out of the ability of the players we have here at Leeds and we are over achieving once again. Bielsa transformed the playing style and ability of every player in 6 weeks before his first game in charge at the club.
Lampard has so far not shown an ability to out think opposition regularly. Like you say he is young and inexperienced so he has plenty of time to learn and improve and so far at Chelsea he has done a reasonable job. But given the squad and the transfer budget spent this summer I am certain that you could have attracted a manager with better qualities to maximise the ability of the squad. There is not a chance Lampard would be Chelsea manager with his record and ability if it wasn't for who he was.
If you can show me examples that contradict the above then fair enough.
I would be interested to find out what you think will be a successful season for you as a club this season? I would imagine you need to finish in the top 3. And come close to winning a trophy at least.
I think this argues my point quite well thank you. 7 games into his second season in charge and he still hadn't worked out which formation to play.
Are you being dense on purpose? We didn’t have half our team available
Bielsa was obviously in the wrong but the whiter than white "we don't do that in this country" response from Lampard was what was off putting. Especially when you consider the people he has worked with.
Just my opinion but I don't see finishing in the top 4 last season with Chelsea as a massive achievement, even without a summer transfer window. They still had a great squad and those players lacked PL experience true, but your academy is one of the best and well funded around, no surprise there were some quality there. And using Kepa and Alonso as examples...weren't both expensive signings? I'm sure Alonso was great when you won the league. It had a great squad, even with Hazard leaving, do you think there were 4 better squads than Chelsea last season?
