Capped at 6 people *per side*
<wink>
What you need to do is stand in lines.
1 keeper, 1 defender, , 3 mids, 1 forward. And you are not allowed to move except side to side but your teamates in that line have to too. The opposition is set up the same but stands 6ft away in their own lines too.

This will probably be my excuse if questioned
In tier three and we can have up to 30 people, getting back to it tomorrow morning.
If you make sure you've got track and trace in place (we use the Teamo app, make sure everybody is signed in as they arrive and "ensure there's no hanging about" then it classes as organised sport and is exempt.
Outside, obviously.
You've booked it. Turn up and play. Enjoy it.

Is that definitely within the rules? Our usual leisure centre said it's only 'organised' if you have public liability insurance, are FA-affiliated, and/or do a risk assessment haha.
I suppose some centres are more stringent than others but still...

We use a local school, as far as our understanding of the law goes we are fine to play and I don't think anybody is realistically got to stop us because we aren't strictly FA affiliated.
Some sport centres seem to create their own definitions though, which is so frustrating.

Cheers mate. I will - I guess I'm just anxious because it feels like such a lifeline at the moment, having some social interaction outside of work and getting proper exercise. Hope they don't cancel it

Interesting, a friends of mine suggested a local school as he'd heard they're hiring out their pitch. I'll look into that as a backup.
Must be a minefield for centres - the Government have to try to cover so many variables. Like you said, I can't really see it being strictly enforced if you're at a proper venue playing, as opposed to a kickabout in the park
I played yesterday for the first time in weeks. I usually play 4 times per week. 11 a side has been postponed until January due to complications about people travelling across tiers & local authorities and such like.
But just go and play while you can!

4 times a week?! Jesus, I would be creaking and cracking all week I think, nice one.
Yeah, fingers crossed nothing is said

Oh I’m feeling it after yesterday! But I find playing a few times a week to be fine once I’m in the swing of things. 11 a side & 5 a side at the Goals centres are definitely the most physically demanding though.
I'm playing 11 a side tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning for the first time in ages, then Tuesday evenings is 6 a side just between mates. Can't wait (despite the horrendous weather and cold, coupled with not being allowed the use of changing rooms before the game)
That's pretty gruelling on the body gents but sounds good. I'd ideally play 5/6-a-side a couple of times a week but it's enough hassle trying to get people organised for one game a week let alone two. You would think lads would be champing at the bit to play
We usually play at a sports hall in a local school but they closed it down when the original lockdown came in during March. Haven't played since.
One of the guys I play with did try to organise an outdoor alternative a just before the second lockdown and I decided not to sign up because I didn't think itnwould go ahead. Sure enough we had to cancel when the second lockdown came in.
It definitely sounds like venues are interpreting the rules in a variety of ways
The fact you work in a factory in close proximity to 75 people should tell you that you need to avoid any contact with the general public wherever you can outside of work.
We started playing again when pitches reopened in July. Talked a bit about whether to change the rules to make infection less likely (e.g. no tackling but limit to three touches of the ball) but ended up just playing normally. I can't overstate how great it felt to be playing football again - the football itself and the banter after months of lockdown. Really made a difference. We had to stop for November but I played again this week.
Obviously, whether to play depends on a lot of factors - local infection rates, your own vulnerability to complications, whether you live with people who are shielding.
RR - that's what I need right now, I can't wait to play again. We talked about adjusting the rules but decided it's basically impossible to keep track of and probably has a negligible effect anyway considering you're moving so quickly past each other most of the time.
I live in Norfolk so rates are low and widespread geographically but we are in the same tier as London and Liverpool.
Cinci - I get what you're saying, and when I said in close proximity, I meant I work in the same building and interact with 75 people each day but not constantly or face to face all day. After a hard week at work where it's deemed fine for me to mix with people (and probably moreso in shops), it's hard to take that I 'need' to avoid (minimal) contact with others outdoors when getting exercise. It seems really arbitrary.
Where are you OP?
My brother played six a-side (so group of 12) outdoors in London on Wednesday and there were no issues.

I play indoors, so won't be expecting a return anytime soon.
Barefoot: that's a shame - indoors seems a long way off the way things are currently. Are you able to play outside where you are?

We can but the over 35's league is indoors. Local teams are training outside.
Back to coaching the kids tomorrow. This will keep me on my toes!
Played 6 a side pre lockdown V2 and it was absolutely rammed every week. Imagine it was mainly due to Notts Uni hammering power league before they all went home.
Started back up again last night but I'm injured so didn't go. Might be different now that most of the students have facked off.
11 a side is not going to be fun over the next couple of months without changing rooms. My strategically planned injury was timed to perfection
