I said yesterday that I think Bailly's best is better than Lindelof's best; I also think he'd be a better partner for Maguire. However, fitness and consistency are the issues for Bailly - he is capable of some really shambolic stuff every now and then.
Good to have him around the first team at the moment though.
Bailly is our best CB, when fit. It looks like he has matured and is finally being a lot less rash. He still doesn't have a moment of madness in him, but less so.
The amount of times I saw him use his pace to cover Maguire last night, he is very good. Please stay fit.
He’s generally good when fit but he isn’t fit enough and still has a moment of madness in him.
I’d like to see Tuanzebe given a run.
Maguire and Lindelof don't work very well... So i'd rather see Maguire and Bailly (as Maguire is clearly undroppable to Ole).
Lindelof is way better than some think though, who have mainly seen him with Maguire. When he played for Benfica and for Sweden, he is much better than we see, as he has the right partner. We've seen this when he has played with Axel/Bailly too.
tbh, I don't care which individuals start, I just want to see the best pairing/s.

Lindelof is a good player who rarely lets us down in big games but he does struggle at times against the big strikers of lesser sides.
I’d certainly keep him but probably as 3rd or 4th choice.
For me, Bailly is slightly better than Lindelof, but due to a mixture of injuries etc, we either haven't seen the best of him, or he's not quite as good as we thought / hoped. Lindelof is solid enough, but I see him as a solid back-up rather than first choice. Maguire needs a partner with pace, which Bailly has more than Lindelof
No question he's a better all-around defender than Lindelof.
....
There are lots of questions over this as we have not seen any kind of consistent performances from him since his first promising season.
Yesterday he quite literally had no one to pick up which allowed him a lot of freedom to make interceptions higher up the pitch.
When fit and on form Bailly has all the attributes to be Uniteds best defender, the problem is, injury and brain farts are never far away.

For me, there isn't much separating the CBs. Getting the pairing right is the issue and that doesn't help Bailly or Tuanzebe when they are injured often.

This.
If we want a different kind of long term partner for Maguire, and we do, Bailly isn’t the answer. He just can’t stay fit.
We need to replace Bailly and Jones. Maybe Tuanzebe can step up and do a job, as a squad option at least. Then I’d be in for Badiashile or Upamecano, with intent.
Would Lindelof and Bailly work?

I wouldn’t touch Upamencano at the prices, decent player but vastly over rated. His partner Konate looks a much better player and a better fit for what we are looking for as well and probably cost half the price.
First clean sheet of the season courtesy of mr Bailey and a solid defensive performance from all. DDG was immense too.
Lindelol may be a good passer, he is no defender though.
