As far as achieving anything is concerned, the season was over when Raul fractured his skull.

We are finding out more and more about the rest of the squad than if he had not been injured that's for sure.

Literally nobody in the PL is playing with any consistency though, I don't think we can use this season as a barometer for how the club is currently doing.

its easy to blame the manager.
most would agree that the injury crisis has shown up an over emphasis on youth. but it doesnt follow that that is nunos idea - it could well be fosuns instructions.. they are an investment company and thats where the greatest returns are.

The injury crisis has just highlighted what a dumb idea a tiny squad is. Our squad is bigger than it was a year ago but it is still loaded with untried and untested players.

I find it difficult to see what changing to 4 at the back has done to benefit us. If anything all it’s achieved is make us more vulnerable defensively so I’m surprised that’s the route Nuno has taken. We don’t score more goals as a result, we haven’t won more games, and on this forum the people moaning about the way we play are the same ones moaning two months ago. I like the 4231 formation but to me we don’t have the players to make that work well as things stand.

We were poor before we changed systems. We were poor before our injury crisis. These are things that seem to be completely ignored.

What I have read from you tam and/or cinci is;

You have been bored with the way we play
You think we are overly negative
You think our players are at times passive
You think our players at times go through the motions

If those were my opinions I would be delighted if the manager was shown the door today
----------------------------------------------------------------------

As explained above, all this stuff about people wanting Nuno out etc. is all in your own head because you have real difficulty in accepting people think differently to you. everything has to be absolutes for you or you can not process it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately I don’t think you have been intelligent enough to process what I’ve said here

My question quite simply is : as your views are as above why do you want to keep the manager?

Maybe what you have written doesn't accurately reflect my views and it is actually you that doesn't have the intelligence to process or interpret anything.

I would go through what my views are, but that would be a fruitless task when your skull has become so thick it is impenetrable.

When Solbakken was manager I thought the football Wolves were playing was the most boring I have ever seen the club play. I felt that early season when he had us in the top 4 and when results went downhill it just made my views stronger. And at that time I came on to forums saying how boring and negative the football was and that I couldn’t wait for the club to show him the door. On a regular basis you and cinci regularly make very similar comments about the way Wolves play under Nuno as I was making then about Stale. Yet when I ask if you would like the club to show him the door you get offended.

All I have said is that if my views were the same as what you and cinci put on here on a very regular basis about the way Wolves play under Nuno, I’d be happy for the club to let him go, just as when I made similar comments about Stale. It’s you that’s decided to turn that into an argument not me, I was just giving an opinion

For the record I don't become attached to managers like many. Nuno has done great in general but he is far from perfect and I think overall he is a tad overrated in the grand scheme of things. It was known when he arrived he is a safety first manager, it was basically his undoing at his previous jobs, so why is it wrong to label him such?

I'm not offended. My views are more nuanced than your binary good or bad. If you want to project your caveman way of think on me, I will just continue to throw it back at you.

Plus you were the one who wanted an argument by posting about fans on here being the cause of Nuno wanting out. You don't miss a chance for a good unprovoked attempt at point scoring. Unfortunately, I obliged rather than ignored and have once again wrestled the pig.

I don't think it's a case of becoming attached to managers so much as it's important for a manager to create asquad and a way of playing that works. Arsene Wenger did it, Alex Ferguson did it and I think Nuno is well on the way to doing it at Wolves. He is in the middle of a project and speculation about him leaving is frankly ridiculous. His plans are being hampered by injuries and Covid-19 but I am confident that he, with the backing of Fosun, will eventually build a team that will be a real force both in the Premier League and in Europe.
Bookmark that if you want, but enough with the negativity. We are supposed to be supporters so support, don't criticise!

posted on 14/1/21

I think it is silly to say don't criticise. That would mean we could only ever have discussion if you have something positive to say. So for example; all your criticisms of Semedo earlier in the season should never have been said etc.

Everyone supports the team when we are playing. It is unfair to suggest otherwise. Just some people have different opinions on how the game went or how we are progressing; which should be welcomed rather than moaned about.

Personally, I think Nuno has recognised a lot of similar weaknesses to our game that I have. Hence the change of formation (which i was ridiculed for suggesting) and his talk about evolving. I have repeatedly said that I would be happy for a mid-table finish this season if we saw development of our playing style and youth players which sets us up for next season with a few additions. I am probably more patient than a lot of fans with managers and am less likely to flip from an extreme of full support to wanting them out; as seen with the likes of McCarthy and Jackett.

I'm not going to stop giving my honest opinion on each game just because some fans only want to hear a friendly opinion.

posted on 14/1/21

Agreed. And guess who the most critical will be? Fosun. If you can't see the problems then you are never going to improve.

posted on 14/1/21

Without doubt we are going through a sticky patch in Nuno’s tenure at Molineux. I’m sure he is not in full control of the transfer business and the recent comings and goings.
Maybe Mendes is coming out with these whispers about unrest to loosen Fosuns purse strings a little? We need reinforcements in this transfer window beyond just MGW and Cutrone in my view.

I don’t believe it has been his choice to work with such a threadbare, tiny squad. It’s been a case of work with the tools you’ve got. We had a net spend of £2million in the summer when we desperately needed investment for growth.

posted on 14/1/21

Did everybody see the video of Silva and Traore racing each other pre match the other week? It may not come as a shock to know Traore won by about 30 yards.

posted on 14/1/21

Yeah, be interesting to see if we spend this window. Spiers seems to think not.

posted on 14/1/21

I doubt we will spend his window. I think with us falling foul of FFP last season and with the current Covid situation, the purse strings have tightened until at least the summer.

I am not suggesting that we cannot watch a game and give honest opinions- good or bad- about the performance. I am simply pizzed off with reading constant criticism of Nuno (not just on here) when I think he needs support, probably now more than ever.
Negativity is like a cancer, it eats into you and spreads. You can call me a happy clapper if you want to, hell you can call me whatever you want, but as long as Nuno Espirito Santo is Wolves manager he will have my full support. Maybe that is because I am old enough to remember past managers who didn't deserve that.

Nobody doubts you give your honest opinion tam. And as I have said we know, because you’ve said, you think the Wolves team under Nuno is boring, negative and in recent games the players have been passive and gone through the motions. I think cinci said recently he’s been bored watching Wolves for 18 months now. And he reminds us regularly he thinks we are a negative team.

Those are your balanced and honest opinions and that’s fine. And there are others on different forums that share those views. Just as I guess it’s fine for me not to share those views and to know that others don’t share them either. Forums are for sharing different views

We are negative and boring, that isn't up for debate.

posted on 14/1/21

And before people jump on me, it's a fact we spend among the shortest times in the opposition third each season we have been in the prem.

posted on 14/1/21

Oh and let's not get started on Wolves first halves. Not scored in how many is it? Like 70% of them over three seasons now or something. Yeah we are not boring eh for feck sake

It is fine for you not to share them, even if you still state so in a passive aggressive way. It's not fine for you to tell me what I think or what my opinions should mean. That is the road you go down every single time in an attempt to discredit different opinions and make you feel better about your own.

Someone might think you are compensating for something.
