Weird that, I did the same BBC thing and could only fit three LFC players in - and one of those won't be playing.
Not that I'm suggesting that that means United will win.
It's just that despite United having some significant gaps, they also have better quality in the 'better quality department', thus, they could win. Which is more a reflection on LFCs ordinariness than United's strengths.

To be fair, it also takes time for some players to establish a reputation.
Who knows who we’ll look back on and choose in terms of Rashford vs Mane, Pogba vs Thiago and even McTominay vs Henderson.
Too early to make a judgement for some and others are established PL players in the twilight of their career.

The point im making is these daft combined 11 articles are based on who has the best players. That lfc team had great players but they had won nothing. Utd had won 2 successive titles and a chmpions league so of course people would take them over our guys, they were proven winners.
Fast forward to now. Utd have great players but this lfc team is full of guys who have won a title and champions league in 2 seasons. Utd have had a good last couple of months. Is it really any surprise that most people pick 8 or 9 lfc players in a combined 11?
Instead of so many utd fans, like vidic, getting so menstrual about it, why not just accept the very easy logic behind it.
Just because we have 8 or 9 in a combined 11 doesnt mean we will win the league. Winning comes down to more than just having the best players. Desire determination, little bit of luck along the way. Utd could very easily win the title despite maybe not having the players "on paper" that ourselves or city have.

I think the point is more about Solskjaer though. Loads of people, United fans and Liverpool fans among them, think that Solskjaer is an inadequate manager AND that only a couple of United players would get in a combined XI with Liverpool. Yet United sit in a good position in the league. As far as I remember, Rafa was respected as a good manager.

I dont think anyone is saying your players are mediocre, im certainly not anyway. All im pointing out is that on paper, which is all combined 11s are really, liverpool have better players in most areas of the pitch.
