It is bizarre bmcl but politics does not help itself when we see that same visceral approach between our elected representatives. Shysterism is rife amongst the lot of them.
Politics is pretty fooked with the desire to score points off each other seemingly more important than gaining support for your position from positive presentation. Holyrood tried to adopt a more mature environment than the combative pit that is WM but is has descended to that level. Just turns people right off.

It is a huge turn-off. I think part of it is that most parties don’t have their A team in the Scottish Parliament. One of the potential benefits of independence could be that the best Scottish politicians can be found in the Scottish Parliament. It doesn’t feel quite as adversarial as WM even just because of the structure of the building and the voting system lending themselves to cooperation, but I agree with you that the level of debate recently (I’d suggest since Scottish Labour put Leonard as the leader) has gone downhill.

There is no hatred on my behalf - I just think she is solely focused on 'Independence' while the damning statistics of the state of Scotland are paid lip service.
Education, health, poverty, drugs - what is she doing about these key issues? Police stations falling apart (actually crumbling!) - FFS!
No - for her it is all about securing Independence while Scottish people suffer.
I have no time for her.
FFS - Life expectancy for your average male in Scotland is the lowest in Western Europe.
It is absolutely embarrassing.
Further - what is happening with the circa £1bn she has stashed away - why is this not being spent?

To turn it back on the OP, as a man of the coast, where was your article when minsters dismissed ferry enquiry findings saying, "We do not accept there was catastrophic failure." WTF is the point of having the enquiry if a government is going to take that approach?
As well as the enquiry money (lining MSP pockets I guess?) there is the £45m loan lost when Ferguson went t!ts up, the £100m additional costs, the delivery 5 years late, all the costs supporting old vessels, all the costs of service deficiency to islanders from ferry breakdowns.
Sure we saved a few hundred jobs but not all of them local. Many Romanian because we don't have the skills here anymore. I've seen estimates that the final overrun could be £250m and against informed islander reports that completed 'off the shelf' suitable Korean and other vessels are available for £14m each?
