The longer it goes on the more I think that no fans in the stadium has affected us more than most teams. It’s only now you can truly appreciate the effect a full stadium has on some teams, and also how an empty stadium removes the fear factor for visiting teams.

Agree there is no way that you go unbeaten for so long with fans and then lose 5 in a row without fans and there not be a correlation

Assuming you have never been to anfield then you won’t appreciate the importance of having a full stadium. The unbeaten run was in part down to the presence of fans - who are regarded as some of the most passionate in Europe .
Hope that helps explain it

Yes I have been to the stadium but to use that as an excuse is desperate and embarrassing.

No one is using it as an excuse , but surely you understand that it has made more of a difference to Liverpool than to some other clubs ?

You only have to ask Messi how important the Anfield crowd is to know it’s affected us.

The injuries also haven’t helped

Oh dear, we are in a bad place aren’t we? Our team, seemingly devoid of anything positive. They made Chelsea look even better than they were, and they are a good side, no question.

The score doesn’t reflect the gap between the teams either. We could still have been playing, and still wouldn’t have scored. Yes, we’ve suffered injuries, but that’s not the full story. The wums are trying their level best to have a field day, telling us how good/bad they/we are. If only they could come up with some originality, something, anything!

Where do we go from here, where are we headed? On last nights performance, please kiss a top four slot goodbye. That for me is reality. Top six? Very doubtful.
Season to end today? If only. CL? ‘winners? Final even? Semi final? Not on the performances thus far this year.

No wailing, no knashing of the teeth, no moaning from me, we are where we are, simples!

12 games to go. Get behind the team. See where we end up.

Football is cyclical, the players look exhausted and you just need to get this season over and done with and re group.

Klopp needs to refresh the squad and get his injured players back.

Keep the faith and don't do what we did and sack your manager!

We were unbeaten at Anfield during the pandemic and the last team to lose there home record in the pandemic. Yes we have great fans but if the players are playing crap because they are not in the ground then they need to look at themselves.

United home record has not been great this season but you don't hear United fans making excuses like this.

No more so than for any other team. Hence a record amount of away wins this season.

I personally don't think the fans is the issue at all and smacks of arrogance that it would affect us so much more than other teams.

But allowing for a moment that it is a issue, how anyone can think it is more of an issue than the awful injuries we have had actually blows my mind. Can anyone remember a team finishing top 4 who lost every cb they had to injury for more than half a season at least (let's ignore the injuries to the fill in midfielders even)? I remember united playing Carrick in CB for a few games and that was somehow a huge issue but we are meant to just deal with our problems in a season with an unusually congested fixture schedule. Makes no sense. No team in the country could deal with our injuries. Injure laporte, stones and Diaz and then injure fernandinho and gundogan when they fill in there and even city would struggle and they have an insane squad that is pointless comparing to.

from one of the few clubs that's actually been allowed fans in this season...no doubt being allowed them for a month or two and then not being allowed them has hit them harder than any other club in the world

The op has been derailed a bit , the fans I believe make a difference. It’s clearly not the major reason for our poor results and no one is saying that .
