I don't think Henderson should be going. No player that has been out for months and just gets fit in time should be. We have done it so many times and it never works out well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is we done it with players that were irreplaceable. So they were rushed back.
Grealish and Henderson aren’t irreplaceable in the England team. With the extra squad places I think we can afford to bring them in the hope they’ll be able make an impact later in the tournament. Henderson will probably be wanted as much in the squad for what he can bring off the pitch as he does on it. If there’s one good thing Southgate has done with England it’s fostering a good team spirit.
26 players for a 7 match competition is pretty ridiculous in truth.
Clubs can go through a 38 PL season using less.
For nations with no "dead rubber" 3rd group game then there will be 7 or 8 tourists.

Looking at our defence, we need to get Ferdinand and Terry our of retirement. I bet they are still better than the shambles we have.

Yes because they made us world and euro champions
I know Pep and Tuchel are vastly superior to Southgate, but with so many English players that will be involved in the European finals this season, it will be criminal to get anything less than a semi at the Euros.

26.) Harvey Barnes
=====
5 full backs and a player who is long term injured?
I guess it hides the inclusion of the posh lad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well A.) Southgate will be taking 5, so i bound myself to that realism, and B.) I think Trippier gives a good option on either side. with the additional spot, don't see the harm in picking a player that can cover either FB position.
Forgot about Barnes long term injury. Replace him with DCL then.

Our side of the tournament is pretty stacked, think we play one of Portugal France and Germany if we win our group and Spain if we come second or something like that

I think it's about time we beat one of these top teams in the KO stages. There is no better time than with this squad.
The squad is good enough to win the tournament but the same is true for France and probably portugal too, don't think we can feel too hard done by if we get beaten by either

It is one of Portugal, France or Germany if we finish first or second. So every chance we go out anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we finish 2nd we actually play the runner-up of Group E which will either be Spain, Poland, Slovakia or Sweden i believe.
The English clubs playing in these finals is actually detrimental to us. They’ll miss some of the warm up games. Many of these players have played a lot of football.
It’s hardly criminal if we don’t reach the semis. We’ll likely be playing one of the two best teams in the competition - Portugal and France - in the second round.
I wouldn't have Michael Keane, he's always looked out of his depth at International level. I'd have Ben Godfrey before him these days.

DF: TAA, James, Maguire, Stones, Shaw, Chilwell, Mings, Walker

Yeah, coming 2nd would be better for England compared to winning the group, on paper.

Not on paper. You never know, since Low has announced he is leaving, this could lift them up.
I'd rather play Poland, Sweden or Slovakia than a "crap" Germany who finished above France or Portugal tbf.
England would manage to lose to any, though.

It would definitely be a huge chance missed considering semis and final will be held at Wembley.
I think we should be beating Portugal with the players we have.
Depends on context. Germany are hosts in their group, they can still be crap and maybe scrape through in second. We’d then play them at Wembley. The second round game is problematic for the winner of our group, but it’ll probably be a nicer route after that looking at that side of the draw.
Portugal have better players than us.

I've got them down as third favourites personally, behind Belgium and France.
I'm not sure they do but they're definitely more capable of turning up than us based on our previous meetings. And Southgate will do his best to thwart us.
