I’d rather have a midfielder like Carrick at the DM than a ‘destroyer’ tbh but there aren’t many about.

James Garner is the next Carrick.

Saul Niguez has to be the one, regardless of whether Pogba stays or not.
If Pogba does go then there'll be more in the kitty for another.

Is Saul any good? Or was he just one of Simeones cloggers that sticks to specific tactical instructions well?

Manuel Locatelli, Bruno Guimaraes, Ismael Bennacer or Marcelo Brozovic.

All competent playmakers who can add some control, they're positionally disciplined and can sit and protect the defence.

The playmaking aspect is just as important as the defensive aspect. This is the type of player our midfield badly needs.

Is Saul any good?

If he was in addition to another midfielder then maybe but even then I don't think I'd sign him.

We don't need any right wingers.

Imagine trying to defend against PSG in the three games a season they had Verratti, Pogba, Neymar, Mbappe and Hakimi all on the pitch.

And then when you think you’ve done your job Ramos steps up and smashes a header in the top corner.
