...

I'm still not sure why you see it as an attack on Liverpool
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I like most others on here are not sure why you even brought it up. Surely there was an actual valid point to all this but I'm not quite seeing it.

Maybe you can enlighten us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No problem...

Someone said "Klopp's never broken a transfer record in his life", so I replied "he kind of has, VVD was the world transfer record for a defender and Alisson was the world transfer record for a goalkeeper."

Nothing too controversial there, you would have thought, but it seems to have annoyed people, dunno why.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you moved the goalposts and qualified it with "he kind of has", suggesting "I know he hasn't BUT this is nearly the same".

Renders your whole argument pointless though don't you think.

If you can't get a point across without moving the goalposts then you have in essence conceded the argument.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't move the goalposts at all, I responded to a comment with a differing viewpoint. I assumed that was what you could do on here.

He broke the world record fee for a defender for Van Dijk and the world record fee for a goalkeeper for Alisson, so he kind of has.

City fans are all about obtuse arguments since they started doping.

City buy a ferrari every month for 10 months for 100k each month=1 million

Liverpool can't afford to keep up with that so they save their pennies for the 10 months and buy a Helicopter for a record outlay of 200k.

One Helicopters trumps 10 ferraris. Liverpool spend 200k City spend a million.

Instead of hailing Liverpool as genius financial strategists, City fans point to the record outlay of 200k compared to their max single outlay of 100k per month to deflect from their doping.

Genius.

Did he (or the club) break the world transfer record of €220m+ PSG paid for Neymar, yes or no?

Did he (or the club) even break the British transfer record of nearly £90m Utd paid for Pogba, yes or no?

Of course not.

Has he broken any records? Yes (see above)

That was the original point I joined a friendly discussion on, as the post said he had "never, ever, broken a transfer record."

It is very odd how much it seems to mean to a few people, this one.

You could just as well say that ibrahima konate has just broken the world record at a cost of Approx. £36M.

You included otherwise you wouldn't keep persisting with this.

You just said he hasn't broken either of the the only 2 records that matter yet are still going. Really suggests it means a lot more to you than anyone else.

Just let it go.

Why?

There's nothing I've said that wasn't factual, and I haven't even said it means anything. I just find it interesting (and a little weird, to be honest) that nobody will agree that Liverpool broke the world record for a goalkeeper and a defender. Is there some deeper thing I'm missing here?
