Seeing how we play against teams that sit back will be my indicator of whether or not we can be title contenders this year. Southampton was pretty expansive (I think) so I think Wolves might be a better litmus test (although Lage has a reputation of being a pretty attacking minded coach)

Will be interesting to see how we do away from home this season. So many comebacks last year but this time around full crowds will be giving the home sides a boost so might not be getting half the points we did last season.

Swings and roundabouts. Our home form was shocking. 6th best last season. It held us back. The glass is half full, not half empty.

Our away support is that good every game is like a home game for united at many grounds. Crowds coming back will be to our advantage.

Hopefully we’ll carry the momentum and confidence into both games and win both.

Southampton should be easier than previous visits in theory.

Wolves as well I would hope it’s not as tough as last couple of years. I thought they’d struggle this season, although they apparently could easily have won/drawn at Leicester so who knows.
New manager hopefully means no suffocating style from them!

Is that when we beat Swansea under Jose and everybody thought he would change his ways?

Wasn’t that under Moyes?

Saints look poor this season, owners don't seem to care so hoping to get 3 points there. Wolves have a new manager so harder to guage but again I think we have more than enough to win if we turn up. 9 points out of the first 3 games would be fantastic but not the end of the world if we do drop a couple.

Last time we won the opening game of the season by four goals we drew our next two games. Away at Wolves and Saints...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah. We also lost to Palace in between them...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. My mistake. Our next two away games then!
