That's what it was. That book talked about both the Marburg and Ebola but I've always lumped them together.

I only mentioned that book because the way Admin 3 described it reminded me of that story. Sorry to add to the confusion

Just get covid then if you survive don’t worry about it

I'm 76 and have had two heart ops, so I do worry about it.
Strangely enough if you are enjoying life, although old, you don't want to depart it.

Heard there is a crossover of Ebola and Covid in Africa. Seems its 90% deadly and causes your longs to fill up with blood and you drown in your own blood. The whole death process takes 4 weeks and the virus is highly contagious, airborne, and can jump between animals and humans quite easily. Already 500,000 infections in 72 hours. So there you go.

Covid will be with us forever but the severity depends on how many people don’t get the vaccine and what that leads to. The Delta variant is almost like pandemic 2.0 as it’s so insanely infectious and damaging to even some vaccinated people but it would seem the vaccines are just about holding it off which is good news.

The delta variant being so strong is good in a way as it means that being so strong it’s unlikely a more dominant strain will take over and delta will just be happy to take its place and spread around and settle eventually. However if large groups of unvaccinated people pass around the delta variant then a stronger variant can be born and that would be the nightmare scenario.

There will always now be booster shots available for the variants which is great but what needs to happen is for there to be enough goodwill in future months and years for people to take them en masse and squash the virus.

Weirdly an Ebola outbreak would never reach the same levels of disaster as Covid has as it kills people off so quickly it can’t spread as well as a coronavirus. Which is why that widely spread (no pun intended) conspiracy theory at the beginning of the pandemic about the UK government downgraded it from a HCID in January 2020 to a less severe threat level in March 2020.

Housewives and crackpot old bearded unemployed white guys spread the word that ‘look, it’s not a HCID anymore, but THEY won’t tell you that!’ … not realising that if Covid was a HCID it would burn out a lot quicker and be more like Ebola (which is a HCID) which kills people so quickly that the virus can’t do so much damage as it’s contained easier.

The vaccines definitely do make a big difference. In NI, we have proportionately about twice as many unvaccinated as the rest of the UK, and surprise surprise, we have far higher infection rates. It's a double whammy, as the "free thinkers" who deny Covid and refuse to be vaccinated are also far more likely to be reckless and even further increase the risk of infecting themselves and others.

Sadly those same people who don’t wanna be in a ‘trial’ are now part of a far worse trial. And Covid deffo doesn’t hold back.

Was never just going to go away. At least another 2 years like this I reckon. I am fine living how we currently are, I just don't want any more lockdowns.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Pretty much this. Over here we are mostly seeing the unvaccinated being the ones catching it and nearly all deaths (something like 99.9 %) are unvaccinated people.

I believe he’s referring to the Marburg disease.

From bats, 88% fatality rate, no known cure
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Though there’s actually only been one confirmed case and is spread through can with bodily fluids.

Well none of that is true

It’s killed over 400 and it can spread via tiny water droplets found in coughs or sneezes as well as in body fluids

I’m talking about the latest outbreak and this suggests there’s only been one case, with the last outbreak being 2005. Also says human to human transmission is via contact with bodily fluids.

Oh and those droplets are actually bodily fluids as they come out of your body….
