He's always struck me as someone more loyal to himself and his career than any loyalty to a club. Which is his prerogative.
Will I see him as a bit of a traitor if he joins City? Yeah, I will. But then, I never held him up on the pedestal that other fans do. He forced a move from United and his performance level in his final season took a dip whilst he was preparing for his move to Real, which is something I've never forgotten.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally I don't get the traitor thing. These guys are mercenaries who follow the cash.
For example if United signed Suarez say on one year deal I wouldn't give a fook
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can be goal and career focused without having to be labelled a 'mercenary'. I think this is one of the most over used terms in football and it would apply to very few people. People just chuck it at anybody who is remotely interested in progressing their careers etc. Under this usage, every single working person is a mercenary but if that's the case, what sthe point in labelling anybody as such?
How many people here work for less than their role is valued at and refuse moves to further their career or increase their financial situation even further? I'm guessing a big fat zero.

I think it’s embarrassing for Ronaldo if he joins City. He doesn’t need the money, and Utd and Ferguson were so instrumental in his career - why tarnish that at this stage by joining their local rivals? It doesn’t make sense to me, shows a lack of integrity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree on that.
But still, it will be funny.

Romano's pretty reliable aint he.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All that idiot does is wait until other Twitter idiots have spread nonsense for about 1/2 hours, then he re-tweets it as if he's ITK. He's about as ITK as drunk Dave from The Spread Eagle in Chorlton. Ronaldo will not join City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He isn't though, to be fair. I went digging around about Romano some time ago, don't have the links etc to hand but he definitely has good contacts around the football world - there was an interesting article which was explaining about how he made his way up and specifically listed some of the people he gained trust from very early on. He gets a lot right and clearly has connections even if he isn't the single point of all information, he obviously won't be. If you make people that in your own head though and hold them to that standard, that can't be helped.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes he is he's a con man. Has zero contacts or sources, just re-tweets what everyone else says.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're just repeating the same line with nothing to add any value to your argument. I can't be bothered to read on your behalf, you can find the information which proves you're wrong but like any delusional person, you won't be interested.
At this point I just don't think you're serious, you're way too much of a parody of a character.

I'd be absolutely gutted if he went there. Him and Rooney were heavily influential in my football life throughout my teens and its an age where you're far more likely to get heavily attached to people.
It wouldn't be so much that he's a traitor, I can get why he'd want to go somewhere he has a realistic chance of one more CL win and whilst it sucks, I can understand it.
The worst bit would be City getting him, it'd feel like Tevez but really ramped up. They would absolutely love it and I think I'd want to vomit if they sang viva Ronaldo as a deliberate dig. That would be the most bitter thing, for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A ladyboy and a granny shafter as your football icons. It’s a mad world….
I don't particularly want him to go to City but that's just part of the football fan hypocrisy in many ways. We'd have no problem if someone like Schneiderlin joined City.
At the end of the day these players are pros and will want to go where there's the best chance of glory and/or money. Ronaldo is rather limited to where he can go for if he wants more glory so he'll have to go to a club who can offer money to go alongside it as well. It goes with the territory I suppose.
Ridiculous that City wouldn't pass 100m for Kane but would pay 50-60m just for Ronaldo's wages despite his age. Surely tying Kane down to a 5 or 6 year deal makes more sense.
He'll join because he'll be paid well and have a great chance of winning the CL, pretty much any other player would do the same.
I've always had a lot of respect for him as an athlete and professional (what he did with the Coke bottles at the Euros was great), other than that he seems a bit odd and I've never warmed to him as a personality like other players. He can do whatever he likes.
Can't blame him, chance to work with arguably the best manager around, good chance of CL, good wages.
I think when you're coming to the end of your career it makes sense to look after yourself first and put those things ahead of a stint at Utd 12 years ago
