Good luck to you.... After Saturday.... UTT....

I went to the City Ground yesterday for the first time this season. The team is totally lacking confidence for sure. However, I felt they were clearly still playing for the manager and clearly cared. The atmosphere is toxic. Players getting booed for not passing forwards but often there was no pass on. Then got booed for hoofing it forward too! Part of the reason (only part not all of it at all) is the expectations at Forest. We expect a team to be challenging regardless of how poor the players are. The atmosphere turns at Forest much quicker than most other teams. This contributes to managers not getting time. We need to accept that we need a massive rebuild and that just surviving for a few seasons will do is good.

Listing to talk sport on the drive home last night, so many pundits saying how the club can’t keep blaming managers. It’s so clear we are trapped in a ridiculous cycle of hiring and firing. It’s got to change but I just can’t see how it will? The board are like the fans and expect instant success by just buying quantity rather than quality.

We have not been able to score goals for years. We may as well accept that and play to our strengths which is what SL did.

I hope we can change something this time as I fear we can only attract managers like John Terry who have no experience and are happy to take any job. We have no chance of someone like an Eddie Howe coming here cause of our owners and our culture.

If you read Tails latest article on the Athletic it seems he was losing at least some of the first team squad. The one guy who will score once he's settled, give him service in the box for example is Grabban, he was playing in midfield last night. You really wanted L.G on the end of the chance that Worrall ballooned over the bar, why take off Mbe Soh when we're two down & replace with Richardson?
Why was the new C.E not at the ground last night? has he left?
Getting married in the States sounds like another smoke screen to me. So who sacked the manager E.M, Vrentzos certainly our increasingly out of touch Chairman?

I like CH, think he's a good manager.

Feel for you - sounds like it's the owners that need sorting, not the manager/coach. That sounds so familiar ... we had jokers for years. Painful times.

We were going nowhere under CH. There wasn’t a single indication of any improvement. It’s just a shame it took this long.

We would have 💯 gone down with CH in charge.

I’m delighted by this news.

Whoever gets the job the trolls will be piling on social media telling us how useles he is.

Real fans will adopt a wait and see approach even though he is bound to create varying degrees of optimism.

If it is Cooper I will be as optimistic as I was when we appointed Hughton, Karanka, and Warbs. Which was kind of 7 out of 10 optimistic.

As we all know it is not really the manager that has been the problem all these years, it is the owner not trusting whoever it is to do the job without interference from himelf and/or vrentzos. If that continues the new manager will fail.

This rebuilding thing people are banging on about, is that not happening right now? We hire Murphy and instantly the average age of the squad is dropped significantly. The wage bill has dropped too, apparently.

Houghton now gone and we are looking at Cooper, seems like a Murphy appointment to me.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I said to my mates that Houghton would not work and he would be sacked within 6 months, okay got that wrong a bit but the point still stands that he was another O'Neil kind of appointment. By that I mean, we were about 10 years too late getting him. With Murphy leading the way, at least now we have an idea and direction in which we want to go in. As opposed to hiring has been managers (houghton, oneil, mcleish, wally with the brolly, megson etc) AND PLAYERS!.

With Derby facing a 9 point deduction the future is brighter.

If you can somehow entice Chris Wilder I think he is your man to get you back to the Premier league maybe not this season although with a good run it's still possible, but I think he'll definitely get you up next season.

Do we don’t need to address why another manager who has been decent everywhere else has failed at Forest?

Agree - it’s too much of a coincidence that all the managers we’ve had over recent years, who have succeeded elsewhere suddenly turn crap when they come to us

Hughton, Kranka, Warburton to name a few - in fact look what Warbs is doing at QPR?

They don’t turn rubbish when they come here, it’s a lot deeper - all those mentioned at good solid manager’s- but the circumstances that they are working in is near on impossible

The problem we have here is that we chip and chance every year and just like the pressure on the manager from the off

There’s no 5 year plan to build a foundation and something solid - it’s continual short term thinking - and if this continues, it’ll be the death of the club

Sick of this mindless merry go round from the owner, who lets be honest, has no real interest whatsoever in this Club - he talks about investing £100M on redevelopment Never gonna happen - it’s a smokescreen fed to us to keep us on board

The club is heading to League 1

I stupidly paid a tenner to watch that horror show last night and he really needed to go after that. The performance, the inability to even cross the ball into the box by Zinc from a corner, I found difficult to comprehend. Most of the players looked like rabbits caught in headlights. Playing Garner behind Lyle Taylor and pushing Grabban deep into midfield, the guy had lost it, the tactics were those of a desperate man who has unfortunately lost the plot.
Round pegs in the right holes get the players to relax and enjoy the game. The players who were playing with any inhibitions were all those either new to the club or recently from the U23's; duff said.

Again a lack of in-depth due diligence before hiring Hughton. He'd been in the frame for ages for the Bristol City job, then they gave it to the coach. They obviously carefully analysed Hughtons recent track record and found him wanting, Forest should have been able to reach the same conclusion.

I think decent is a stretch. I was decent at picking up women, but then i got old and the game changed.

Hughton got old. Brighton fans hated his style of football. No creativity and minimal goals. He was on the slide there. My mate who is a Brighton fan said he might get you promoted, but it will be awful to watch.

My mate whose a West Ham said he was amazed that Brighton ever stayed up. Some of the worst football in the Premier League he reckons.

Karanka....sacked prematurely. Birmingham have started well, but he’s won 8 in 39.

Warburton....had two seasons at QPR. Not been in the play-offs and started well.

They’ve failed because the expectation is bigger. The club is bigger and they get paid more money. None of the managers we’ve had since Clough have done anything after they left. Just maybe, they weren’t that good in the first place.

Cooper, the ugliest man in football is a brilliant manager. Wilder has had great success. I’d be very happy with either one in charge.

Sounds like it’s Cooper, poor guy is in for a shock!

We won’t pay a million pounds for a player, but will pay it for a manager who is out of work as compensation. The club is run by lunatics, reminds me of ‘one flew over the cuckoo’s nest’, with the lunatics running the asylum. At least we’re pretty well assured with competition for the Brian Clough trophy for several seasons, albeit in league 1. Cooper’s football wasnt much more exciting than CH’s.

Forget exciting!

If we scrap 50pts I will snog his ugly face off!

When Cooper left Swansea by mutual consent, there was a clause that if he returned to work within a certain period of time Swansea we’re entitled to anything between 1 and 1.5m compo. Supposedly we will pay 1.2m, crazy. As I said we won’t pay for players but will happily pay TWO lots of compo, CH and Swansea, absolute basket case of a club. We deserve all we get. I am fast running out of patience with this circus.

Exactly. If he is on gardening leave they are still paying his salary. If he takes the job we are offering they save money. They should be compensating us for taking him of their hands.
