Nah we were just without our manager at Stamford Bridge
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So what position does he normally play in?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's normally in the dugout and technical area. Quite obvious really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh right, so he doesn't cross the white line and have an influence on play then, sorry my mistake - unless you miss him for being there for intimidating officials and such.

Let's face it, he didn't help you too much from the side lines at Anfield were his magical influence couldn't help beat us with 10 men!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aw so cute in trying and failing to talk down a managers influence.

Never mind.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What drivel is this???

Never mind!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's hardly drivel to suggest a manager has an influence on his own team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nonsense - what sort of team needs a manager holding their hands on the sidelines!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the Ole experiment shows how important the manager is…..
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How?

Ole's failure comes from his lack of tactical awareness, inability to assemble a squad to suit the needs of the team and his lack of leadership at Carrington.

Once he's at the match it's too late to make a difference on the pitch.

How did we even get to discussing this totally irrelevant concept!!!!

Then why don’t more managers sit in the stands with a better view?

Pretty sure Brummieblue will tell us all about his experiences as a top level football manager to anecdotally back up his premise there.

Because what came before it was so deep and meaningful…. Thank goodness there’s so few Chelsea fans on here if this is all they can come up with.

No no, it’s intriguing so can you develop that point further re :

So what is it that he can do at the side of a pitch that can't be be relayed by such a simple device as a mobile phone.

Surely modern day technology has caught up with a club the size and stature of Liverpool Football Club!!

Simply, empirical evidence points to show you to be wrong.

Otherwise every manager would opt for a better vantage point than the dugout, ergo there must be a benefit for the manager to be there v elsewhere.

What evidence? I see none and where else would a manager sit other than with his back room and playing staff?

I'm sure his coaching team are intelligent and able enough to be able to translate any messages he wants relaying to the players without being there in person.

He may well be an excellent manager but neither Klopp nor his team can do anything with the ball once the whistle has blown, his name is Klopp - not Yoda!

Well where else would you suggest he stay? In the bar, in the changing room supping on a hot Bovril maybe or just laying out across the back seat of the team coach getting 40 winks!!

Klopps team, he gets the best out of them.

We had a rookie keeper in nets, Kelleher. Chelsea couldn’t even get into a winning position past him.

Supposed champions of europe are chelsea
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuchel bambozled at home by our assistant manager. Klopp doesn't show up to face inferior managers.

Lijnders>>>>>>Tuchel
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bamboozled by an assistant manager. Thwarted by a rookie keeper, their whole defence undone by a chelsea reject.

Mental strength? Don’t make me laugh.

They couldn’t win v a previous interim manager either.

Chelsea crumble with a full strength side.

Could fall below Spurs should Spurs win all their games in hand.
