And before you consider that you are banned from buying anyone....or have you forgot there is a war on ?

And just how do you think a consortium works ? well let me tell you. They run things like a business. You know, aim is to maximise profits, not spend it all on a never ending line of players. Mate, your previous limitless deep pockets strategy is long gone. You know, that 1.5 billion debt you owe him. That ain't happening again with any consortium.

Start getting used to how things work in football outside of City, and soon to be Newcastle.

Why would the war have anything to do with chelsea football club buying players? Hopefully they knock all this nonsense on the head. Roman is out. Not sure what good punishing a football club does.

Centre Back:

Kounde looks nailed on. Offers some flexibility too as he's played at RB quite frequently. That being said, I have my doubts - only 5'10 so could struggle aerially in the PL as a CB.

Bastoni and Skriniar would both be decent buys. But I'm not sure Inter Milan are actually willing to sell either. Skriniar is also supposedly very happy at Inter so you'd assume that a contract renewal is in the works.

Full Back/Wing Back:

McNeil could be a good budget option (especially if Burnley go down) but I don't think he's good enough to start regularly for a title challenger. Also, he's very much a winger/wing-back so we'd be limited if we switch back to a 4atb.

Maehle is someone you haven't mentioned but could also be picked up for a decent price if Atlanta miss out on Europe. Comfortable playing full-back/wing-back on both the left and right. This could be essential with James' persistent injury problems.

In an ideal world we'd want 2 new full-backs/wing-backs, however, with purse strings tightening, it may be a case of buying 1 and brining back a loanee (e.g. Emerson or Maatsen)

SMS would be interesting. Not been following him for awhile but a few years ago he was a proper Chelsea midfielder. If he's a cheap alternative to Rice that's worth monitoring.

Long as we get decent wing backs either side & a CB we're good. There's a lot more needed to challenge City & Pool, but additions in those three positions will consolidate 3rd

For a DM, I'd be happy with any of:

Tchouaméni
Ruben Neves
Kamara

I would've included Bissouma in that list if it wasnt for his ongoing court case...

I smell fear. New consortium will invest big time.

And we broke even 2017-20 pre COVID and still lifting multiple cups

On the list it seems Dembele and Kounde as the most likely to be completed soon
