Celtics win over Liverpool probably tops our win over Dortmund given quality of their team, but there’s a bigger gulf in finances between ourselves and Dortmund now than there was between those two.
Porto then were tougher opponents than Frankfurt would be.
Otherwise we’ve beat more teams, and the quality of the teams we’ve faced has been higher.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Without a doubt the gaps in resources between the teams in our run is much bigger.
That Liverpool team weren't finishing second in their league like Dortmund are. They came 5th.

Both of Rangers runs were harder than Celtic getting to Seville. Although Celtic's challenge in the final tougher imo.

Anyway, the result last night probably left both teams happy as it confirmed our place in Europe next season. Plenty of work for Courts to do over the summer and he needs to find a better balance between attack and defence.
------
By the way, not something many would have predicted at beginning of season. Hearts maybe but Dundee United seemed pretty unlikely to do this. Weirdly despite this achievement it still seems DU fans on here are just content with the team when they probably should be thrilled
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think most people think we've just got lucky because of the state of Hibs and Aberdeen. It's not been enjoyable to watch for most of the season to be honest and we've not had much attacking threat. We need to continue to improve.

Yeah, the thread is about Celtic and their record with regards Managers since MON, don't know why bears are so desperate to come on and let us know due to next wed they don't care, no kant asked
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its a multi team forum etc is that not the line that gets trotted out when your lot pile on to a bear thread?
The reality is Rangers have somehow relegated Ange and Celtics excellent achievement to be the second biggest talking point in scottish football this season.
And thats just by getting to the final. If we somehow complete the miracle and win it......
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All joking aside, I agree 100% with that.
It's remarkable what Rangers have done in Europe over the past 3 or 4 years. Getting to a final is the icing on the cake but in reality, it's just the culmination of a few years of solid performances that has given the team the belief that they can win on that stage.
I've said for a couple of years that when Rangers step up a level in Europe they will always lose to the better quality teams. There was a massive gap between Rangers and Leverkeusen for instance.
However, when Rangers get a team who are at or around their own level , Rangers will win 9 times out of ten.
You can argue about Dortmund as they have been a big name in European football but if you're honest, they didn't look a good team when Rangers played them.
This leads me to believe that Rangers will beat Frankfurt next week unless they just run out of steam at the end of a hard season.
It will be the greatest achievement in Scottish football for 40 years, only rivalled in that time by Celtic's invincible treble.
I'd say that Wednesday is not only the biggest match of the season but the third biggest this century.
At the moment. I'd put Celtic's Seville run and Manchester ahead of this simply because of the quality of teams they had to beat to get there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In terms of enjoyment this far outstrips the Manchester run for me.
I couldnt watch those games. Playing for a 0-0 at Ibrox isnt my thing. I understand its a means to an end but it was painful to watch.
This run has been electrifying with some of the most dramatic and exciting games seen in a long time - particularly at Ibrox.
The style we have done it in this time has far outstripped the Manchester run. And to do the last couple of rounds without Morelos - who was undoubtedly our European talisman - just makes it all the more remarkable.
Again - credit to Gio. He didnt get the response he wanted in the second half of the 2-1 OF game at Ibrox but in general the response and tactical changes since the 3-0 doing has been superb.
It's fooking nuts looking at those runs.
We got papped out of CL qualifying by Malmo and Basel. Then caught fire and made it to the final of the Europa beating many better sides on the way.
