no, they weren't.
tell someone outside of your own fanbase that rangers are european heavyweights and they will laugh at you. It was a massive achievement to get to the final because it was so unexpected.
same way it was when we got to one, we were not heavyweights, we just had a good run that year.

none of them won it, they were runners up.
know why they weren't?
rangers runners up - following year out first round next year to Kaunus.

middlesborough - didn't compete following year
fulham - beat some schite to the last europa league qualifier and then got pumped by dnipro
its deluded to think any of these teams were ever european heavyweights.

At one point celtic were the best team in europe, now they are pure $hite. Racking up the same amount of co-efficient points over the last 3 years as bigger teams like Rangers did last year alone.
To be considered a European heavyweight you need to be consistently challenging for European trophies and be listed amongst the favourites for the trophy every year.
