They're replacing one bad finisher with a more proficient bad finisher.

He's actually a good signing and improves their squad, but I'm not sure he gets back to the levels he was at a few years ago with them.

Terrible signing. Guy on his last year, not wanted by his club, gets given 300k a year for several years and singing on bonus no doubt.

All to be as hit and miss as the players we already have. Terrible signing

If the £55 million is the fee City have done well to get that.

Only time will tell if it's a good signing but he should do well there.

Interesting view,....for real, or just a pre-emptive strike?

Wonder how long he has left given how early he started

Overpaying for a guy that has a year left and little sell on value after.

Good player but mugged off by City

Been my view thst I don’t rate him for years. Will struggle without creativity that he’s had of kdb, David silva, bernardo to not get his tap ins.

He has world class movement. One of the best in the league. That’s the only thing I rate of his.

City weren't prepared to give him a singing bonus even though he's been described as the black Ed Sheeran.

I wouldn’t say he wasn’t wanted at City. With only one year left on his contract City had to cash in.

Not a huge Sterling fan. Fits in really well with our other wasteful finishers.

Crazy wages as well. The likes of Mount and James who will soon be negotiating new contracts will want somewhere close to that.

I did think he stood out a bit at City, lacking the sort of slick technique so many of their players have. Sterling is far more direct, takes players on and this can work or not. I admire his confidence to do this but I find him frustrating for England as he takes so many touches so often, and tries a lot of dribbles not many of which are successful. Perhaps he feels he may have more freedom under another manager

When he first broke through at Liverpool what struck me what how intelligent he was as a footballer. He played a lot do different positions and understood what was expected of him in each one. He’s got positional sense, picks the right passes a lot, takes responsibility for the defensive responsibilities he has. People focus on the weak finishing, with some justification, but his all-around game is very good imo.

You’re paying a lot it would seem but he’ll do well at Chelsea.

I was surprised to see he's only 27. Good signing on paper but this seems like the last area they need to strengthen

posted on 6/7/22

He needs regular games and an arm around him. Can look shocking at times but he gets in good positions and always scores goals/gets assists when he has a solid run of games.

I think he will do really well at Chelsea tbh.

Contract length means nothing, especially last year, unless a team wants to wait a year. Chelsea wanted him now so 50m I think is a good deal.

People can tell themselves otherwise but he wouldve had a queue of teams when he was on a free.

On paper, great signing. Could easily do a Willian though.

Sterling Werner Pulisic front line will be worth watching just for comedy alone.

Id be surprised if it were available for selection in the new season. Think we take the hit on Werner to get him out the door this summer.

Both Man City and Chelsea traded players worth around half a billion dollars in the last five six years.... What's the motive? FFP rules avoidance or money laundering?

posted on 6/7/22

Exactly what they need imo.

Versatile, gets goals (those tap ins are due to world class movement, it's such a weird criticism), commits players and very importantly for Chelsea I feel is rarely, if ever, injured.

He is a vast upgrade on Lukaku as it stands
