Would you bet against United wasting some more time by going back in for Antony?

It can't go on much longer. Barca cant register their new signings, with their season opener on Saturday.

Expect news within days
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But we get an update from you every day?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What's the question?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because it isn't clear.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How?

A lot of people on this site are in a deep state of denial around the actual situation surrounding FDJ. It's becoming laughable at this point.

What is the actual situation?

Literally no one knows the actual situation, so being in denial is not really possible. It only makes sense if you are someone who confuses opinion and rumour with facts.

The easy option is to just assume that we are terribly managed... I can see why, as we have clear history of that... But the FDJ situation has always been far more complex than that.

The deep state are holding barca and FDJ at ransom. Fdj desperately wants to sign for Utd, but the deep state have stolen Barca’s money so they can use it to elect trump king of the universe and restore the KKK to full power... Utd are fighting back, using Erik and his ten hag’s (kind of a Dutch avengers), and trying to restore balance in the universe.

I made a thread a few weeks back. Based on news from journos who work for Barca and La Liga but there seems to be some made up notion here where "ETH must have been told by the player he's coming"

The truth is the player has not he has said that privately and publicly, his stand pubic and private is wishes to remain at Barca.

Barca wants to keep the player, Xavi wants to keep the player and the player wishes to stay.

The deferred wages are not an issue, FDJ has never asked for them to be paid before he leaves. He has stated he does not wish to leave nothing else.

Barca can not afford his current contract
He does not wish to take a new contract with a pay cut thus potentially losing the deferred wages

He believes and the club still believe(in public at least) that a compromise can be reached between them, FDJ and La Liga to get some numbers fiddled or whatever and get everyone signed and keep the player.

If the above can't happen in private it seems Barca have put a back up plan in place which is force the player out to the highest bidder

He is annoyed by the above but along with the club is more focused on reaching a compromise which will allow him to stay.

I expect him to stay at Barca. But then again I expected Messi to stay as well....

Ahh, gotcha...

Your rumour is the real truth

Poor Chelsea, embarrassing themselves.

Barca have made it clear, they want to keep him, if he bends over backwards for them.

Anyhow that happens. People need the sack.
This is a legacy from Ed Woodward. These lot were under him, they are all mates.
Drain the swamp.
It’s cos of Woodwards gross incompetence that UTD are getting messed around like this.
We are seeing the same patterns of foolishness, this lot don’t get 8 years like Ed.
Sack immediately.

It's not embarrassing in the slightest. We've had 9 years of this kind of stuff now mate. More really because we had some right shocking windows under Fergie too with 'no value in market' BS.

I'm not embarrassed by them anymore. I've just had enough of them.

United have wasted all summer chasing a big name and it's highlighted that all of the issues around the club are still there. Total amateurs running the place, criminal the Glazers have allowed it to continue, they really couldn't give a schit.

Although it's a blessing in disguise not spending 70m on a single player when you need about 10 players so this might end up with the funds being spent better for the position you are in.

Wouldn't hold my breath they get those right but at least there is a chance for it to be spent better.

If the player indicated he'd be up for the move, but has them been turned by Chelsea, how are ETH / the club at fault?

Apparently FDJ was excited and wanted the move, and as part of his research read ja606 Utd board. Apparently he got put off Utd by reading all the negativity and incessant daily update articles.

Konrad Laimer
Chris Nkunku
Gvardiol
Erling Haaland

I now think in hindsight Eth should have taken that meeting with Ralf

Actually agree with RDD on this one.

I have never, and still don't believe that the club wasted 3 months chasing a player who told them from the start that he absolutely didn't want to join. It is just completely illogical.

What probably has happened since is that Chelsea have come in and are now the more attractive option to him.

If that is how events played out there is probably not much the club couldve done apart from walk away earlier than they apparently have done. Even then though, if ETH considered him that important you can see why we didn't.

Ultimately the club should have foreseen the thing would be a saga and just never been tried to buy him. He’s not prime Iniesta. Just a guy who hasn’t exactly set the world on fire at Barca. Plenty of other midfielders we could have focused on and started the season with a better midfield than what we have.
