Sounds daft, but as long as they don’t increase the leg room.
London stadium and Wembley are way better facilities but awful recent experiences.
I’m nit that old a man but happy to sound like one in that you should be careful what you wish for. Get this wrong and could suck the life out of Elland Road
Needs doing, the demand for tickets is there and an extra 15000 seats will earn the club some good money.
prob needed in an ideal world, our fan base is huge and its very difficult to get tickets to watch us, even in the championship.
How much this cost and would this be detriment to the playing squad, as in buying players?

Shouldnt effect it, unless the club want it too
Good news👍 … however the point by Faith is a good one, let’s hope any expansion is done in a way that enhances, rather than diminishes, the special ER atmosphere.
Not being a football ground designer, I don't have the answer😁, but we need to avoid trashing the ER atmosphere and I’m thinking about the sort of problems Arsenal and West Ham had, albeit they moved to new stadia.

I always thought the atmosphere at those grounds were diminsihed because they priced the avarege football fan out for tourism and the prawn sandwich brigade and nothing to do with the size?
I mean, Leeds fans at Wembley for example you can hear us loud and proud.

Arsenal was quite at highbury, but to be fair, its been good last couple of years.
And west ham, too far away from pitch

The money generated from the new stands, are going to greatly increase the revenue of the club, easily covering any interest payments (no idea how they are financing it)

I do take your point, but thought wembley atmosphere was very poor
Yep, West Ham defo too, too far away from pitch … and that really odd ‘gap/moat-like’ thing (done to bridge gap between new seats and old Olympic stadium seats).

didn't go to be fair, so will take your word for it
also City experience a lack of atmosphere, not sure this could be due to the size too?
I could get abit of stick for this.
The increase in women and girls going to football, has diluted the atmosphere in the UK.

Shush - he has his hand on the closet door handle...
Dont get me wrong, its fair better for the game, and grassroots football in girls, has really exploded.
But am I less likely to sing, stood next to a fit bird, maybe.
Am i less likely to drop f bombs and C bombs, next to women and girls, most definitely.
It has vastly improved matchday behaviour and lets be honest apart from odd big game, or big rival, there isnt any trouble at all.
But no doubt it has affected the atmosphere

Certainly the young lady a couple along from me in the North Stand sings and swears like a trooper...
And does anyone know if infrastructure spend is accounted for differently than player purchases? If so, it might mean that the two aren't as related as we think.

It was awful. I imagine a few reasons.
1. Everyone at Elland rd is in the right places and tend to know who starts the songs etc. That’s a right mix up at a cup final. (Not wembleys fault)
2. Seats are spread out way too much.
3. Lack of corners and sides makes it harder to distinguish between sections of the fan base and harder for fans to bounce off each other.
4. The size of the place made it harder for songs to be heard across the full fan base and often they were finishing before all the fans had heard it start.
It’s just not designed to be intimidating. I don’t think you should be able to let people walk past your seat without having to stand up. Have to say though, west ham’s London stadium is the worst I have ever been to by a long long stretch. It’s all the problems above but x10.
