Golden boot is a good measure of how you did vs the standard of that year
Also comparing a player with basically no european pedigree to one that excelled there....
Still don't like Jose. Still think it'll end in tears. Still think it's questionable whether the brief success will be worth the fallout. Suspect this is very much the high point of Mourinho's Spurs tenure so it had better end in some tangible success, but might as well enjoy the high point while it's here.
a league cup wouldnt be worth a complete capitulation next season

It has to be either (1) the league, or (2) the FA Cup and/or Europa League, really. He's been backed with the exact transfers he wanted so expectations have to be raised, and like you say Phenom, if there's going to be a clusterfack in the next 12-18 months then the reward has to be that much greater to make it worthwhile in the long term.
You never know, Mourinho might decide to stick it out for more than 2.5 years
I find it challenging that Mourinho has these arbitrary targets laid out whereas Poch is seemingly excused for leaving us with a clusterfvck and winning nothing despite having the best team in the league for a couple of seasons.
It's prejudice. Maybe you can justify it, but it is what it is.
I know its being used by guys like ttliv and sour grape Arsenal fans but Kane does need to stop doing that backing thing
Its similar to before they cleared up the aerial challenges in rugby where guys were slyly getting away with devastating tackles
i agree i didnt think much of it until i noticed him sort of lean into them a bit.
hes said he knows the player is behind him and you can see he wants to bring the ball down to feel. Though the winning a foul thing is part of Jose ball i think, you see those a lot but on the floor so the danger element to the opponent isnt there then. In the air though it is more normal for two players to compete in the air for the ball, by not doing this Kane then can really injure an opponent.

I do sort of admire that hes found a referees blind spot to gain yards
But its too much disregard for the safety of his opponents to be allowed to continue
I think it's a nonsense personally. You can't start punishing people for not going up for headers.

there are ones ive seen where hes gone into them mid air and can land awfully.
the lallana one(which this all seemed to come off the back of) isnt the same as the bad ones though. Genuinely believe thats a penalty, Lallana was stupid to jump into him
If you brought in the rule it'd be so easy for the likes of Dier to just flatten the likes of Sterling when the ball is in the air and get away with it.
Agreed Phenom. But then you have the likes of Cech and Jiminez injuries. It's a contact sport. Things will happen.

thats a great point to be fair.
i think the officials need to talk to Kane and tell him walking back into them isnt an issue, its the arcing his body which makes it dangerous.
It's just the current fad because rival fans are crapping themselves about Kane. I love it.
Crouch used to do a similar thing several times a game. No one accused him of trying to injure people.
Equally you shouldn't be able to win a free kick off a guy thats gone up fairly

Maybe so. That's a different issue though init.
ive seen plenty where the striker has eyes on the ball, walks back to where the ball is going to land on them to bring it down, and the defender goings up and is all over the striker using him like some kinda bring board, back fires and theyre on their arris - and the ref gives a foul to the defending side. its a very inconsistent area of the game.
Yeah I think the refs will be looking at. They'll have to now there's a fuss been made.
