Welcome Bb ...it's a bit more civilised on this forum!
I agree totally with you about the new stadium end of the plan. It's a super design and a project with wonderful opportunities a propos the link with UWE.
Without wishing to give our friends from the other side of the Styx ammunition my reservations are to do with selling to a supermarket chain and the history around the gates and ground. If guarantees can be made about the preservation of the gates in suitable surroundings (eg a garden of remembrance), then I will be overjoyed at the whole package!

Cheers Barra!

Hi 49er - of course the gates must be preserved - and not just shunted off to a forgotten bit of a supermarket car park, but I believe that this issue is easily solved and shouldn't represent an obstacle to the development.

After Opal pulled out of the Mem redevelopment deal, I had an nasty feeling that the whoole project would collapse, but I'm genuinely excited about this UWE deal. After speaking to friends and a family member at UWE and S Glos I'm confident it will deliver. Now let's just hope that BCC play ball.......

The only thing to worry about is planning permission for the enabling development of a Sainsbury's at the Mem. But Bristol City Council gave permission for a stadium, student flats, retail units and a hotel, so it's unlikely that they will reject the supermarket. All I can say to Horfield ROSE is ha ha ha ha. Ha.

thats the BIGGEST THING TO WORRY ABOUT......

Yes indeed 04, it is the biggest thing to worry about - but as I said, it's the only thing........

Its hard not to get excited about it all but as always the pessimist I'm trying to keep my excitement contained because im so used to dissapointment relating to our club. Maybe the tides changing ..... hang on, that was optimism wasnt it?

I find it all funny that the City fans are actually jealous over us.

No change there then
