Condolences, sounds like he was sent off with a bit of a bang.

"So don’t wait around fellas. If you fancy going somewhere, trying something new, getting back in touch with someone, just fckin do it."

Fwiw my BiL went a few months back, cancer, 65, basically said the same thing, we're here for a good time but its a short time.

Condolences to you and your family. Seems you gave him a great send off though and a very important message in that we need to live for today, as well.

Time passes very quickly, so .....and I don't know what.
Live each day as if it was your last, ridiculous.
Live sensibly, marry well, enjoy small and big pleasures.
It sounds like he did Mike ffs.
I'm sorry for you today.

Sorry to hear that Mike.
My brother in law died a few months back at age 39. It was absolutely tragic how everything happened.
Important thing is to be around family and be there for each other.
Take it easy brother.

Big hugs Mike. Sounds like he led a great life though. I think it's always important to take time to reflect, regularly. If it came on the news tomorrow that there was a comet on the way to earth and everything will be destroyed, ask yourself if you have made the most of life. If the answer is no, then do something about it.

Don't let life get away from you and rely on enjoying yourself when older. That day may never come.

Meant to say brother* .
Was reading someone's post up above mine and it said "Bil" and I wondered what that was, so googled it, and it was stuck in my mind. It means brother in law ...

Life is a funny old thing. It'll fack you when you aren't expecting it.

Sorry to hear about your loss. You just don't know what's round the corner. I've known too many folk who have died at a younger age than they should have so yeah, whilst you can't live life as if it's your last day, you can certainly try to enjoy it more and not get dragged down by the mundane things in life

Sad to hear, Mike.

I have a similar Uncle who is like you describe. He now has early signs of dementia. I am going to his 60th wedding anniversary in October.

Sorry to hear that Mike.

Goes to show, you can't spend your life planning to live it in retirement, as so many do.
