On the paper talk bit I saw this “ Desmond is not as well known or understood as other billionaires such as JP McManus and John Magnier, with whom he is about to share a €6bn windfall from the sale of British nursing-home business Barchester.l

On top of his already c.$2.2bn wealth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be clear..that's the total value. Best estimate is he only holds about 10%
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poor fella. €600 million? How's he going to survive?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, he has to love somewhere, eat, drink etc. give the guy a break
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember some NBA star a few years ago turning down a $35 million contract saying "How am I supposed to feed my kids."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye. "May I introduce you to the real world"

Watching the Blue Jays tonight?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
FVK Yeah.
Anything to ram it up them.
Then down their throats.
I don't even like baseball.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree 100% It became so boring to watch, but on this occasion I will continue to make an exception especially as baseball is Dictator in chief's favourite sport >

His managerial experience consists of 1 season at Maccabi Tel Aviv, and 10 months at Ferencvaros where he took over in mid-season in Jan 2025. Won the title that season (I’m guessing with largely somebody else’s team), and currently 7th this season (albeit with game(s) in hand). In other words, he wouldn’t be anywhere near the conversation if he wasn’t Oirish … and that’s the main problem, again.

Do you think his other teams employed him because he's oirish?

Nothing against the guy personally, and I couldn’t really give a monkey’s why other teams appointed him. My point is he has less than 2 years of managerial experience, and is largely on our radar because he’s Oirish.
