I will reserve judgement on Steve McNamara until after this years 4 Nations. I can't believe that England will play as bad this year as they did last year in the 4 Nations. if they do play as bad then Steve McNamara should walk, but obvisouly i hope they play a lot better.

I agree with TBF. Mac might just surprise everyone by doing well in the Four Nations compared to the circus in last year's games.

Having said that, Mac doesn't have much in the way of personality or charisma. So God knows how he motivates his players (perhaps he threatens them by having regular one2one meetings with him every morning, lol)

Craven not sure if he is the worst ever but on his first full time coaching job he dimsantled a good Bradford side they dropped way down the league and recorded a reord amount of back to back losses.

So we gave him the England job very odd that but lucky for him cannot see anyone wanting him after this contract ends in SL.

Lets hope the team do well anyway.

Leagueleader.Like you I only wish us to do well, and wouldn't it be great to see us have a genuine chance of winning the 4 nations, but I always feel we are just making the numbers up.We have the best squad of players for a long time, but I just wonder what the powers that be in our sport think of.Do they say "right lets look at the candidates, mcnamara lost 14 successive games at bradford and dragged them from a top 4 team to a bottom 4 team for 3 seasons running, lets snap him up,before an under 12 team grabs him".?

Believe it or not, I to wish England go well and we can get back to the days of being excited even weeks out from a Pommie Vs Oz match that will be a toss of the coin re; the result.
At this level I don't think the quality of a coach is everything, you have a squad of players with 3-4 natural leaders in it's team who will be out there doing there own thing........like any game if the forwards hold there own the quality will always come through in attack by the end of the day.
Mind, I to was a little surprised when Macca got given the top job of England but at the end of the day he can't be held to blame for any missed tackles or knock-on's..
